AFTER the "End of the HIHIGL journey." Onward.

Post by PT7 » Sat Jul 08, 2017 12:34 pm

Gentle Forum Folk,

Each of your kind and caring responses eased my tremendous sadness when my wife died on 7/3/17, when I shared that with you. http://henryrifleforums.com/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=2970. I'm most grateful, although simple words cannot express that very well.

For a short time now, I'll not be on the Forum much. I never expected there would be so much to do to bring about closure when a loved one passes away. On top of all the required document filing to be done, most important is to care for family.....and myself. It is good "work" to care for our daughters and siblings as we move ahead with daily life, to love them more through this sad time. But at end of day, the head hits the pillow most weary. I'm blessed to be strengthened each morning by the Lord.

Bear with me. It is important to me to try an express my thankfulness to each of you for your kindness.

Henry88,

I like your choice of words...."wondrous life together." It was exactly that way!
Appreciate prayers and God's blessing.
Henry88 wrote:PT, I am SO SORRY to hear, I had no idea.
It sounds like you had a wondrous life together and now she has gone on to her righteous reward.
I will say a prayer for you both

God Bless
Ah, God's blessing again from a brother in Christ!
Grateful to you, Cofisher.
Cofisher wrote:God bless you, my friend in Christ.
Yes, Les. The happy memories will last forever...thank you for that encouragement. I know that and look forward to living those each new day.
Les wrote:PT, there are no words to describe how sad I feel for your loss. The love and the pain that you are feeling shines through in every word, but you will have many happy memories to remember Joyce by. The pain will gradually fade, but the memories will last forever.
It was quite easy to share with the good Forum folk, Dave, since you and SH have brought about a nice community here. These thread comments to me have proved that. My "courage and faith?" Straight from God, the best for me.
daytime dave wrote:Bob, you have my sincere condolences.

Your story is heartfelt and touching. I admire your courage and faith.

Thank you for sharing it with us.
Steve51,
The good part of this last week is knowing with assurance that Joyce is free from all that pain and suffering. The daughters and I are thankful for your reminder to us.....thanks!
Steve51 wrote:I extend my sympathies to you and your four daughters. Joyce will experience no more pain and suffering and you will be re-united one day. I commend you for taking your vows seriously and being her caretaker.
May the Lord give you strength and assurance in the days ahead.
Jim, yes, you did have the words.....I see them on my computer screen! Reading them did help, and I was glad to hear from you.
JEBar wrote:I have no words that can help lessen any of the grief and sadness you guys are experiencing .... hopefully, fully supporting your faith through thoughts and prayers may be able to support your faith
Hey, Marine. Continue to enjoy being with Miss Tina. Your words echo my thoughts of Joyce, other than she wasn't a fisherwoman. It's a great thing to love and be with your bride and life partner. We both know that!
BrokenolMarine wrote:So sorry for your loss. I know how hard it must be. Miss Tina is my spouse, my best friend, and my fishing partner....
We do everything together. I will keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers over these next days.
Ah, CT. Thanks for the "peace" you sent my way, my Friend. I continue to have comforting peace from the Lord in special abundance these recent days. Take good care, and special greetings to your dear wife, too.
CT_Shooter wrote:Peace be with you, Bob; and thank you for so eloquently sharing your beautiful love story and your testimony of faith with us. It's an inspiration.
Special stuff you've sent to my family, RR, in thought and prayers. I'm encouraged.

I know you know, Gene. I'm so grateful that you have moved onward in your life with re-newed interests (especially Evelyn), and that you are again involved more in the Forum. Your story opened up a lot of care, too! Thanks much.
Sir Henry wrote:Bob, I know how difficult this is and the courage it took to share your story. But I also know that sharing this with others helps.
Grateful that you saw my sharing as "beautiful and touching," NCG. Joyce was most beautiful to me, and I had the blessing of seeing how she joyfully touched so many people throughout her life. It was such a blessing to share her with everyone.
Take care...Bob

Appreciate your writing to me, Dennis. Thank you!

RSb,
How well you penned it that out of the saddest things in our lives there can still be the "uplifting" because of new and good things that can emerge. Sometimes we miss that truth; grateful you have reminded me and all of us!

Your love, dedication, and strength of faith is inspirational.
Thank you for sharing this with us.
Yours is a special note, Estacado. Knowing without a doubt that I will be with Joyce again someday, and that especially we'll both be with Jesus, is the greatest gift/hope ever! As I wrote in my story, I so much look forward to that day!
Estacado wrote:Oh my goodness. What can a person say? The pain/joy you are experiencing now must be tremendous. I am so sorry for your loss but know you will be with your lovely wife again some day. At times, the only thing that makes life bearable is the knowledge that we will be with our Savior one day. Stay strong. God has a purpose in all things.
Cate,
For the caring "gifts" you've sent to me in each line of your note, all sealed and wrapped in the promise of Matthew 5:4, I'm grateful and blessed.
Catherine wrote:I am sending my sincere condolences to you and to the rest of your family.

I will pray for you.

Your wife is with God and out of her pain and suffering. You will see her again!

Both of you were blessed to be together in GOOD and bad times.

Remember the good times, the funny times, your beautiful LIFE together and that will help you when you remember the tough and sad times.

I wish you peace. I wish you happiness.

Matthew 5:4

4 Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.

Sincerely,

Cate

Bob, take care of yourself and do what you need to do it.

I am thinking of you and Gene daily. The grieving process is different for everyone. Do what you have to.

I am here for you if you need. I know others are too.

Regards,
Dave

Bob, I agree with Dave. There is no one set way of grieving.
