This is a place to talk anything Nascar.
To get it started, who's your pick for Bristol next week-end?

My biggest problem with sponsors is the M&M car. Love M&M's but don't like Bush.
Does anyone remember what happened when Tide started sponsoring a car?

Kyle could very well win another. He sure is on a roll.
But I would like to see Dale, Jr win at Bristol.

I'll go with Jimmy Johnson, not that I am a fan of his. When I first got interested in NASCAR back in the mid 1980's I was a Mark Martin fan, then Tony Stewart and now that he claims to be retiring next year, I will probably root for Carl Edwards or Martin Truex Jr. As far as any time table for Stewart to be returning this year after his four-wheeler accident I haven't heard. Does anyone know?Cowboy Gun Fan wrote:This is a place to talk anything Nascar.

But he's pretty good at Bristol, and he has won all three races in a weekend there before.

I haven't heard either, but I believe he is ahead of schedule on his road to recovery. Hopefully it will be at or before the same time Kyle came back last year so he would at least have a chance to compete.Deadwood Dutch wrote:As far as any time table for Stewart to be returning this year after his four-wheeler accident I haven't heard. Now if Tony wins the Championship after being out for the beginning of the season, will we still hear all the "groans" like we heard some say about Kyle?
(I wish we had one of those "Whistling" Smilies, but the "Wink" will have to do, lol).

Re: Official 2016 NASCAR Thread
Tide sales soared. NASCAR had no idea women liked racing just as much and men. Before that no women's products were sponsored. Please no comments about washing just being a women's world.Vaquero wrote:It was 1987, & DW left Jr Johnson and went to drive for Hendrick's.Sir Henry wrote:My biggest problem with sponsors is the M&M car. Last I recently heard, Nascar is 40% Female, which is a pretty sizable number.Sir Henry wrote:NASCAR had no idea women liked racing just as much and men.
It is probably even a little more than that in the South. Most daughters would watch the races with their Dad's and became forever hooked on it. It's a Southern tradition, lol.

Not sure about the rest of the country, but Nascar seems to be the best father-daughter sport in the South.Sir Henry wrote:I wonder how MLB, NFL, and the NBA compare?
Great Father-Son Sport too.
Grandfather-Grandkids, etc, etc, lol.
It's always been a big family sport. Inside Nascar and out.

Re: Official 2016 NASCAR Thread
OK, I found the Clip of Kyle Busch in Traffic after the Martinsville race last week that I had mentioned in the other thread.
To set the stage, while in traffic he saw a car riding next to him and the girl riding shotgun was wearing a Kyle Busch hat. Kyle's wife started filming as he was trying to get her attention. You can hear him hitting his horn and here is the rest:
