Hello from the PDR of NY
Greetings, everyone! I'm relatively new to the gun world. I've had a Ruger 10/22 for about a year, but never got to shoot it until a couple months ago. There's limited places to go around here unless you belong to a club or association. I finally was able to plink at a coworker's place, and I was instantly hooked! My wife and I will be joining a small sportsmen's club in the next couple months. I've been looking at lever guns non stop since then, reading all kinds of articles and reviews. I considered a Rossi .45, but decided a nice Henry .22 would be more "economical" for now, both for the gun itself and ammo. All the positive reviews helped, too! After studying several online brokers, I found Dick's Sporting Goods has the H001 at $319 inc FFL transfer. I would have had a hard time matching that with shipping and FFL fees for online purchases, so I went with Dick's. Plus I got to choose one from store stock. I was quite delighted to see one with nice tiger striping. I would have preferred a smooth receiver cover, rather than grooved for scopes, but I can live with it!
Here's my new friend, with a closeup of the stock. I plan on stripping the receiver cover and getting rid of the poly stock finish when the weather warms up, but for now I'll just gently caress everything!
