DIY GB Pump Action

Post by Les » Wed Feb 22, 2017 5:17 am

I know that this probably won't be to everybodies taste, but it was an itch that I just had to scratch. I tried - unsuccessfully - to get a Brasslite cover for my H003T pump action, so I decided to do the next best thing and 'make' my own.

The gold paint was actually very disappointing. It was supposed to be a very shiny finish, according to the advertising photo, but it is definitely matte, but apart from that it went on very well.

Anyway, here it is. If it gets damaged in any way - cabinet scars, etc - it will be easy to fix. I'll just have to see how it goes. I'm still waiting for my new H001T to arrive from the USA. It is now into week 10 of the predicted 12 week wait, so hopefully it shouldn't take too much longer. Who knows - that might get the same treatment.

Watch this space! ;) :D

That rifle looks good - you may be on to something, there. Maybe Henry is watching and brasslite pump 22 may be in play for the future....

Thank you all for the kind words. Image

Even though the final finish isn't what I was expecting - or hoping for - I am quite happy with it. If the receiver cover had initially been anything other than black painted Zamak 5, I might have had second thoughts, but as it is I've just substituted one color for another.

Fortunately, I didn't have any pink paint in the garden shed. ;) :D

Now, where's that Frontier gotten to ...................................... ! :o

I think it came out nicely. You are right, just traded one paint for another. Good job.
