Henry lever action 410

I am excited by the news that Henry will (may?) be offering a 410 lever action shotgun in January, 2017. However I don't know a thing about the this new offering or this bad rumor.

Fellow members what do you know about the Henry 410? Real or not? Good or bad? Side loading gate?

The 410 Henry shotgun is to be released in 2017. There are a couple of thread discussions that have already happened on this news.
Here is the main thing you might want to watch. It's on "Henry TV" when the Henry president, Anthony Imperato, announced some new guns for 2017. He first mentions the 410 about 20 minutes into the video.

I read that the H.R.A. lever 410 will handle 3" shells= a big improvement over any other lever action 410 for 2 1/2" only.

Thanks for the replies. I will hunt and watch the video & article.
Now it's time to start saving money and exercising patience. I've been looking for a 410 lever that I can afford for a while. Hope Henry's price is right.

Now that Ruger has stopped production of the #1 it is time I move on to other manufacturers and HRA is the one. With the new 410 and nice looking single shot rifle I'm all in though I believe my first will be a 44 carbine seeing as I load for my 44 Rugers. The thing I am most impressed with is the build quality and all made in America what's not to like.

Ok I gotta ask. So if a guy isnt doing cowboy action or something like that what are you guys mostly using a 410 in a levergun for. I know shooting but just recreational or clays ?????

Same thoughts here. I had a single shot .410 in my youth. It made a great squirrel gun and maybe an occasional rabbit. But that's about it. Now if this was in 20 gauge...

It only takes 2 1/2".

Yes I saw that and it's too bad. I guess I'm not with it as far as a lever action shotgun that is a lot more $$ than a pump that will handle 3" shells. H.R. A. makes first class firearms , I have two , and I'm sure that the lever 410 will be another classy example.

I have been a .410 fan and have hunted with them for over 50 years now. I have had both a Winchester and a Marlin lever action .410 for years now, and while they are nice guns, I won't be in the market for a Henry lever action .410. I hunted since the early 1960's with .410s and I just really like my double barrel and single shot .410's much better. Also the henry will only fire a 2 and 1/2 inch shell just like my Winchester and Marlin because of action length. I found my lever action .410's just don't have much practical range with the 2 and 1/2 inch shells and improved cylinder bore. They both though really shoot slugs great, maybe the Henry will also.

I wonder if the barrel of a Henry 410 is designed so it can be retrofitted for choke tubes ?

I would like the Henry 410 more if it took 3 inch shells, didn't have the pistol grip or the rubber buttplate.

I'm thinking these could be a great home defense companion to a "Judge". Some of those 410 defense loads are plain nasty stuff.
