89 (RealFeel 100) @ 5PM .... not a cloud in the sky but what's become pretty much of a daily alert, "Humid with a shower late this morning; heavy t-storms this afternoon; storms can bring flooding downpours, hail, damaging wind gusts, and an isolated tornado" .... Maureen had a morning physical therapy session .... on our way home shopped for groceries at Walmart .... that pretty much says everything about our day

Off to the range with sons and grandsons, sounds like a perfect day! :D

53 this morning with a bright red sun trying to shine thru the smoke. It’s really not too bad and the AQI is in the moderate range. High later of 86 with light winds today. Yesterday the winds got pretty gusty and a few more wildfires broke out in the local area. Thankfully the awesome local firefighters got them knock down before disaster struck!

Light day ahead, I have a mobile marine mechanic coming to repair my kicker motor on the boat. It won’t start, looks like it’s not getting spark. Probably the coil but I’ll let him do more diagnostic work than I was capable of. Otherwise I’m just planning on dragging a sprinkler around to water lawn not covered by the sprinkler system. A never ending task.

51 this morning, a nice feel to the air. High today still hot at 90 or so. Same tomorrow then a dry cold front arrives on Saturday. It’s expected to bring winds with gusts here to 40 and for dave77 up to 60 mph. Crap. It’s expected to be another Red Flag Warning day due to the winds and low humidity. On the plus side is the temp is expected to drop on Sunday with the highs only in the 70’s. Like that as I’m golfing on Sunday.

Got my surgery date set which is next Tuesday. My brother is a surgical tech at the hospital doing my procedure and knows my surgeon very well. Says he’s’ both an awesome surgeon and a great guy too. I haven’t met him as he was not available the day I did my consult but his PA who did do it was great too. He was recommended by my regular doc who just had a double hernia repair from him. Sounds like I’ll be in good hands.

53 and sunny with little smoke or breeze. Hot today around 90. Enjoy the day as tomorrow brings more trouble. We are under a Red Flag Warning for wildfire and unfortunately the forecast is trending to the negative. Now our expected wind gusts have increased to 50 mph. Plus I received notice from the power company that there may be a preemptive cutting of the power. This power shutoff is pretty wide spread. First time for my place but I believe the power company is working hard to avoid power line caused fires and are becoming more and more proactive. I have a back up generator but it’s just a portable type not a nice whole home unit. My generator will not power the A/C so it could get warm……

Today is mow the lawn day plus other misc chores around the home.

58 with a bright red smoky sun peeking thru the trees. Around mid day we expect a gusty wind storm to arrive and this whole area is on pins and needles. We are under a PDS warning which is one level higher than a Red Alert Warning. I didn’t know this even existed until now. Last night we were at dinner with some neighbors at a local place. It was about half full and an alert went off. Imagine a couple of dozen phone all screaming an alert at the same time in a small room. Thankfully it wasn’t an evacuation but it was this warning below.

A PDS Red Flag Warning is in effect from 2 pm to 5 pm across the Inland Northwest. PDS stands for Particularly Dangerous Situation. PDS Warnings are only issued for the rarest and most extreme circumstances. This is the first one issued by the NWS Spokane office.

I have put a lot of effort over the years making my place as fire safe as possible. Fingers crossed!
