Smith and Wessons are nice! The first firearm that I purchased was a Smith and Wesson, and I was in San Diego. It was a model 65. The Next Smith and Wesson that I bought was a model 360. And, my wife keep telling me how much she likes it, even after she purchased a Ruger LCR 38 Special +P. Yet, I have no plans of letting her have it.Ted124 wrote: ↑Sat Jul 11, 2026 7:08 pmLike the great Don Bathe, my first firearms advisor.
His AR was deemed illegal and so was his sawed-off shotgun.
He sold his house at the height of the real estate bubble and moved from Santa Maria to the Scottsdale area in AZ.
His very first lesson: 'There are two kinds of revolvers. Single Action & Double Action revolvers'.
That's when I knew I was born to own a Smith & Wesson.

Ted's daily small talk

If I could have only 1 gun, this would be it. Without a second thought.

Nice! I can understand. This is the first one that I bought over 30 years ago, and I still like it.

Re: Ted's daily small talk
^^^ looks great! What is the model designation on it?
It looks like a K-frame, but I might be wrong.

Yes, it is a K-frame, model 65-5.

Re: Ted's daily small talk
Yes, the trigger is nice! Yet, I seem to like the trigger on my Colt better:

Re: Ted's daily small talk
I never handled a Colt. It’s the truth.
Re: Ted's daily small talk
I hadn't either, prior to this one. I was out with my wife, helping her to find a firearm. For every handgun the owner handed my wife, he handed me one. I was not looking for a handgun. When he handed me the Colt and I pulled the trigger, I decided that I should have one with such a smooth trigger. So, I ended up taking it home.

I have a Trooper III that I purchased a number of years ago mainly due to the trigger pull.
It's a sweet .357 to shoot.

GFK, I own the very same Colt King Cobra and I agree. It is a pleasure to shoot, especially my 357 reloads (158gr JHP 13.9gr H110). The trigger is sweet; both in single or double action. I love this gun. And, I bring home some targets shot at 30 feet that I'm proud to share...

Re: Ted's daily small talk
I've owned a couple Smiths, but always favored the colts more. The one I miss the most was an old Trooper.
I still have the first Colt, bought it in '83 from the original owner. It was the one I used when I took my conceal carry class.
And the only S&W now is this little. 32 cal. break action.

Hatchdog, I own quite a few handguns. Only a handful🖐 are semi-auto and the majority are single action.
