We have been putting money slowly into improvements here since we bought the place. Our farmhouse in VA was just about right when when things began to go south in both the local and state governments. We had spent five years repairing and upgrading the place in preparation for my retirement.
When we moved, the inspector told us the new place was great. He was mistaken. Right away, we had to replace subfloors, floors, ductwork, replumb, repair major water damage. We upgraded the security system, and added the whole house genny and tornado shelter. Now we have updated both bathrooms and are about to replace the roof and gutters. One project at a time.
A little unplanned upgrade this morning. Site is working ok it seems.
