Coop, don’t you just love those days when at breakfast it’s 34 and by dinner (supper) time it’s 15? Your forecast sounds horrible, a little bit of everything negative.

Here it’s finally winter, 14 when I got up and probably a degree or two lower now. Should be clear skies once the sun comes up. Yesterday we didn’t get out of the 20’s but it was nice and sunny all day.

Last week we got our weather from Hawaii and this week it’s coming from Alaska. How about something in between for crying out loud.

Gonna do a few indoor projects and then watch the Seahawks at 10:00 our time. Then Gonzaga basketball at 5:00. In between I reload the wood rack on the patio and check the tarps on my burn piles as it’s been a bit windy again. Nothing like last week.

This is a picture of Mt. Spokane I took from a parking lot in Spokane. Not a very good pic but finally we have some mountain snow,. The ski resort up there opened yesterday for the first time this year. Normally they target Thanksgiving for the opening.

51º and rain all day topping out at 60º. By 6:00 am going to work Monday 20º and snow. Supposed to get around 7 inches, 55 mph wind and below freezing all week. Not sure how to dress here but keeping my mittens handy.

Coming home from church there were cars that had been blown in the ditch due to ice and wind.
I hauled in more firewood and now am settling down to watch a bit of football. I did stop and plug the
Kubota with the blade and bucket in though.

It’s still dark outside and difficult to estimate but I must have received about ten inches. I have two and three foot drifts and am officially snowed-in. I’m going to bundle up and fight the 14F and 40 mph gusts.

Things could be worse. I could live in Fairbanks.

Coop, Sir Henry, my sympathies. Those temps with that wind, no thanks.

Here it’s warmer at 24 and as the skies lighten a beautiful sunrise is happening. Looks to be another nice day with sunshine and maybe temps in the low 30’s. Warning up for the weekend with rain/snow here in the valleys but all snow in the mountains. The weather guy told me this morning that our water drainage is only 53% of normal. That spells disaster this coming summer/fall for wildfires.

We’re doing some running around today, a day out in the sunshine.

The temperature isn’t all that bad. I just spent four hours on the tractor plowing in 13F and 16 mph wind with gusts to 37 and was toasty. I have extreme weather clothing. It’s when I’m going somewhere and will only be outside for five minutes when I get cold because I’m NOT dressed for it.

I have pretty good cold weather gear, insulated overalls, polypropylene underwear, snowmobile mittens and a very warm coat and hat. But even with my Sorrel Caribou boots and wool socks my feet would always get cold. Got some of the stick-on toe warmers when they first came out and no more cold feet.
