There is a time...

Post by BrokenolMarine » Wed Dec 03, 2025 1:27 am

There was a time when television programs could be watched by the whole family.
Andy was a wholesome show. He introduced us to the Darlings, or in reality, an actual group called the Dillards.

This one is hauntingly beautiful.

Halfway thru, Andy stops playing, I don't know if that was in the script. I think he was hit by how good she was.
The entire band is highly skilled.
They made several visits to Mayberry. They always ended up playing.
You can tell a lot about the character of a man...
by the way he treats those who can do nothing for him.

I don't look back at the things I can't do anymore with regret, I just look forward to the things I still can.

That was one of the groups that we listened to in Vietnam. I actually never saw what they looked like before.
Thanks.

Now you get 10 minutes of commercials and a 15 minute show. Only show I watch is Chicago Med and the following Chicago Fire.

Sometimes I wish Mayberry existed for real.
Since it doesn't, I try to seek out similar environments. It's surprising how you can still find areas like that the further you get away from population centers and technology.
Some days I'm Andy, most days I'm Barney........
