The US southern States (TX, MS, LA, etc) have had this problem for decades. Y'all ain't gonna BBQ your way out of this. In MS (and a couple other States) they're classified as nuisance animals and can be killed anyway you can and as many as can. It's a war, and we're losing it.

Bellum Omnium Contra Omnes is rapidly becoming a reality (11/2023). Para Bellum.

This is a ten shot group at 100 yards bagged on a bench from my Henry. I have not worked up a load for it yet as I still have a few boxes of the Federal 100 gr JSP. When that is gone I have the 100 gr XTP’s on hand that like you will work up a load for. I carry my Ruger revolver in the woods and I agree it’s marginal for big boys but the Buffalo Bore ammo will help.

nice shooting
I have not been able to match the velocity of the federal 100gr JSP loads, my best loads fall about 100fps short and that was after playing around with half a dozen powders. I have no idea what powder federal use but I would like to know.

It is a shame the 115gr speer gold dot was discontinued, I think it would have been great in the 327 for bigger game.

The same in Aus but numbers have really exploded after a few good seasons.
You are right with the fact we are never going to BBQ our way out of it, to put the 6-10 million wild pig killed last year into perspective Aus last year slaughtered 5 million domestic pigs.
As a country if we ate zero farmed pork and bacon we would have to eat twice as much wild pork just to utilize the number of wild pigs being killed.

Not really hunting but this gives a bit of an indication of the numbers
