Austin Cindric and Jesse Love are both currently downunder racing in the final round of our supercars championship.
Cindric in the main series, Love in the development series or equivalent of Xfinity.
3 races for the main series over the weekend with a race Friday Sat & Sun, Cindric has finished 23rd both races so far. Only 25 car field and both races have had one driver DNF but he hasnt finished last. I missed yesterdays race but Fridays was wet, at one point Cindric was running in the mid teens on pace but running slightly wide on one corner dropped him 5 places.
Love was not classified as a finisher in his race, mechanical issue sent him to pit lane after only a few laps, they got the car back on track for him to turn some laps but not enough to be classified. He had qualified 19th in a 22 car field.
Another qualifying and race today, I would say their performances have been respectable, neither are setting the world on fire but dont look totally out of place either. Good to see a few Nascar drivers finally doing it, there has been talk of drivers like Larson and Busch making starts for a few years but nothing has eventuated. Larson has made it down under to run sprint cars but yet to make a supercars start.
