New sidearm: Springfield TRP

Post by GunnyGene » Mon Nov 03, 2025 11:34 am

Bought this locally about 2 weeks ago. A little about it: 1911 .45acp single stack. Match stainless steel hammer forged 5" barrel, great trigger. It uses a 2 piece guide rod assembly, so field stripping is a little different than JMB's original. Takes 8rnd mags only.

If y'all want to know more details, it's this one: https://www.springfield-armory.com/1911 ... ote-brown/

Got the AOS adapter mount today for a Holosun 507K that I already had, and will be sighting it in hopefully this afternoon, but thought y'all might like to see it now. This will likely replace my Glock 21 as my primary house gun, since I haven't been comfortable with the Glock since day one.

Thanks for looking. :)

You know I'm a 1911 fan. Can't wait to see the range report.
You can tell a lot about the character of a man...
by the way he treats those who can do nothing for him.

I don't look back at the things I can't do anymore with regret, I just look forward to the things I still can.

Here it is. 10yds. All shots from my rest, 8 rnds of each: Underwood 255gr +P FNHC (Left target), and Hornady 185gr Critical Defence (Right target). Both after getting sighted in w/230gr ball on different targets.

Nice shooting gunny. Once you break 'er in and get used to it... you'll have a nice EDC.

Been shooting it some since I bought it. About 160 rnds counting today, so still have a ways to go. As for EDC, not planning for that. I have a couple lighter pistols that I prefer to haul around. :)
