Back in early 1974. Picked her up in the 72 Opel GT before we were married.

Yep me too! Back in October of 1972 I found one just like this diecast sitting on Buick dealer lot. A 1972 and got it for $2300 I believe it was and later put larger Ansen aluminum slot wheels on it big ones in back and one size over in front. Then added a header with passenger side exit exhaust along with a mechanical fuel injection setup. My little Corvette and my first new car at age 18 and of course the dates loved it! I sold it in May of 1974 when my new 74 Z/28 Camaro came in. Still have a set of keys....the dealers key set that came with it!

Hard to find one in great shape and very hard to find a 1/18 diecast of one in the color of mine!
