A bit warmer this morning at 48 with mid 60’s expected later. Overcast now but the sun is supposed to come out after it burns off the cloud layer. Nice weather expected all week with sunshine and temps in the 60’s and lower 70’s. But we do have frost warnings for Monday and Tuesday mornings.

Went up to the property yesterday and got some winterization work done. Then went for a hike up to where the fire was. We got to the logging road behind our place which I expected to be the fire line but it didn’t burn to the road, at least in the area we walked. Funny, the firefighters cut a new road in between our property line and the existing logging road. Not sure why or where it goes but the next time I have my UTV up there I’ll drive it out and find out. It’s real silty and would be a very dusty ride now so hopefully there will be some rain soon.

We were thinking about heading up there for several days but it’s so overgrown with Canadian Thistle (a noxious weed) that the dogs would get so full of stickers we decided to wait until next year after I get it mowed.

Took a couple of rifles and a couple of revolvers along but didn’t have time to shoot. My range is in need of some clean up and the time required to do this plus set up and tear down the stands wasn’t available. Had the dogs at doggy care thus had a time line to get home.

Interesting, the DNR folks came into the property and scraped the grass/weeds from around the building and from around all the poles set in the ground, both power and support poles for the open shed. Pretty impressive they would do so.

41 this morning but a nice day is expected with sunshine and 60’s. More of the same this week other than maybe a couple of mornings with frost. Winters coming…

Speaking of winter, yesterday I started cutting up the trees my neighbor gave me. This wood will be for winter 26/27, this winter’s wood is all cut and split. Put a nice dent in it yesterday focusing on the larger logs to put those rounds on the bottom of my stack. My body feels it, these trees were just cut in the last month and have a high water content making them very heavy.

This is what I got done yesterday…

This is what I have left to cut…

51' and hazy sunny this morning. Haze should burn off in a little while and maybe get up to 72. Looks like rain next weekend.

Good morning, thought I'd pop in for a quick moment.
It's 70 here this AM, with 93% humidity, with a 4 mph breeze. Says the high only going up to 77.

I put a bid in on another Redfield Revolution scope, 2-7x33 last week and won it last night.
That'll be #4, these were made by Leupold several years ago and have been discontinued for a good while now.
I have a good friend up in WI and he says the clarity of these are on par with his VX3 scopes.
IDK that as I don't have a VX3. ;)
Anyway I'm off to work this morning.
Depending on some rain coming it could end up being a short day. 8-)

33 our there as I type this. Brrrrr no frost yet. The official Deer Park temp according to the weather guy is 26, I keep my 33 thank you! :D I have to make a run to Deer Park here in a few minutes so I’ll watch my dash thermometer. High in the mid 60’s with sunshine forecast. Warmer every day this week with 70’s by Friday. Then maybe some rain over the weekend, sure hope so as we need it badly.

Got more logs cut up yesterday but only worked a half day. Came in to watch the Seattle Seahawks lose a football game due to stupid play and then watched the Seattle Mariners baseball team win. They are 1-1 with Detroit and today is a travel day to Michigan. Go M’s…
