this first Wednesday in October has gotten off to a much stronger Fallish start with a cool crisp feeling .... 71 at noon with a forecasted high of 76 followed by the temp dropping to an overnight low of 53 .... had to take a vehicle to a local repair shop this morning .... seems like we are having to do that all too often .... nothing major on tap for the rest of today

Mags, that’s an impressive stack of good looking firewood. I’m  with envy….
Thanks, and I'd guess you have as much if not more. Seems I remember you have more lateral space to spread out your stacks.

Not this year, I’m going to come up short. However the next few years are looking good with what I have on hand to cut and split. Took delivery of two more large trees yesterday. Plan is to start cutting on Saturday but it will be too wet to burn this year.

Could use a fire, woke up to a cool foggy morning. 48 but with the fog it feels colder. Here in a minute I’m going out to play in it, we got more rain last night and I’m going to mow the dry areas around which are now nice and wet. :D Later today it’s supposed to get sunny which will continue into next week but with more fall like temps. Looking forward to it.

51' and raining this morning. 65' with rain continuing expected for the rest of the day. Maybe clear up Sunday for a few days, then more rain.
In the past with the amount of rain we've had burn season would open Oct 1. But the notification made in June is still active and says we're still under severe conditions and burning season is closed. I think someone at TVFR forgot about what's posted on their website and automated phone system.

while this morning's weather was beautiful, Oct 2nd got off to a miserable start .... with the temp in the upper 40's and an 11 mph wind I had to move away from shorts and sandals to long pants, socks and regular shoes to take Maureen to an early medical appointment in north Raleigh .... happy to be able to say that by the time we got back home shortly after noon, the temp had risen to 71 .... it was nice to be able to get back to shorts and sandals .... on the way home we stopped by a local garage where our '05 Trailblazer is once again in for repair .... some sort of sensor had to be replaced .... nothing else on tap for today

another chilly morning .... 50 at 8AM .... the forecasted high for today is 75, temp predicted to drop to 54 overnight .... only thing on today's list is to haul trash .... I haven't followed Major League Baseball this season, well more accurately for the last several seasons .... did watch the NY Yankees game last night and was happy to see them move on in the playoffs

A crisp 43 this morning, not sure what the high is supposed to be. Probably in the upper 60’s and sun expected. Just saw Fargo ND is expecting 90 and Coop just mentioned his high is expected to be 87. Wow! We are looking at a nice weekend coming up with crisp mornings and sunny pleasant afternoons. Good weekend to get all the trees I got from my neighbor cut up into rounds for the splitter.

Today we heading up to the property to see if we can hike up to where the fire was. Hopefully after this weeks rain we should be okay. But we won’t’ take any risks and if it looks iffy we’ll turn around. I need to service the mower up there and do some other maintenance tasks. We might take the motorhome up there next week weather depending. We’ll bring a few firearms and do some plinking if time allows.
