Here’s my 1928 F. Beesley Boxlock in 20 bore. S/N is 2700. Latest S/N I can verify is 2733 before his death in 1928.
Mr. Beesley invented the auto-opening action while he was working for Purdey. Mr. Purdey promptly bought the rights to it, paying Beesley a handsome sum, enough so that he was able to open his own shop at 498 Kings Road in London.
I have removed the Silver’s recoil pad and replaced it with the original.
