Amen brother. Thanks for the info on the differences between the target and standard models. I don’t recall seeing external chokes on it so it’s most likely not a target. If it was, that sure would be fun for the annual Sporting Clays charity event I shoot every year.BigAl52 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 17, 2025 10:37 amTarget model has extended chokes and a 30" barrel. It also fits better because drop in the stock isnt what the standard redhead has. Im not sure why they quit making it but its a good shotgun for clays. Especially if your like me and just cant quite come to terms with spending 3K on a Browning.Hatchdog wrote: ↑Mon Mar 17, 2025 9:20 amInteresting, the LGS had a used 20ga Redhead Premier on hand too. Not sure if it was considered a Target model but I’ll take a look next time I’m in there if they still have it. It was $899. The silver receiver did appeal to me.BigAl52 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 16, 2025 4:43 pmI really like my CZ. I have more CZ guns that any other. I guess Im a CZ addict. But my CZ over and under is a Redhead Premier Target 20ga. They dont make it anymore only a 12. I have shot many rounds of Skeet with it and Im on my third year. I bet I have about 4k rounds thru it and its never missed a lick. Sure its not as fancy as the Brownings or Berettas but Ive been able to shoot some good scores with it and Im pretty sure if I was to buy a 3K Browning which I would love to have I wouldnt hit anymore clays. Go shoot some clays with it Hatch and let us know how you like it

FYI, Carlson makes excellent replacement external chokes if you want to go that route.

Yesterday I finally got to take possession of the CZ. Looks every bit as nice as I remember from all those weeks ago when I paid for it.
Tomorrow is a rainy day so I’ll do some cleaning and polishing on it but it’s pretty clean as is. Interesting that this model does not have the fill in between the barrels. Probably a cost cutting feature. I can’t imagine I would ever shoot this enough to cause any problems. I did read in some reviews about this but nothing negative. Can’t wait to turn some clay into dust. Or a grouse into dinner.

That's a fine looking shotgun Hatch. I hope it does well on the grouse for you.

28”. My preference was for 26” but I didn’t care for the few I could find around here and the CZ really appealed to me so I gave in to the 28”

The 28 will be better for clays Hatch. Ive watched guys with there 26 inch barrels at the local club here and they seem to struggle
