Black and white tv. Only got 3 channels and you had to get up and go to the TV to change channels.
And they had small screens.

I'm about to have my 66th birthday. As a very little boy, like tens of thousands of other kids my age, I had a Davey Crocket "coonskin" cap, a rubber Bowie knife, and pop gun rifle with a cork. I fondly remember hunting "bar" in the basement of our little four room house and in the wilderness of our small town 1/8 acre backyard. For me, it was an idyllic, innocent time and place to grow up; and yup, those were the good 'ol days.

Yes sir. I was Roy Rogers galloping around the backyard on a stick horse with a plastic head stuck on it that looked like Trigger. I had a Mattel Winchester lever gun that you side loaded metal cartridges and they would eject when you cocked the lever. Kids OUTDOORS having fun with imaginations.

My first "firearm" was a cap gun. One time before Sunday School a friend and I carefully placed a cap on the bottom of each leg of a steel folding chair. The floor was concrete. When the adults came in and barely touched a chair they would go off but not all at once. Even after an hour one would go off. My friend and I were found guilty and their only evidence was Edward and me laughing. Seems we were the only ones that thought it was funny. We had to sit through an hour's lecture on how we were "stealing" God's time.

I'd bet God would see the humor. Somebody told me once if you want hear God laugh, tell him your plans. :)

I carried a Master Barlow folding knife with a 3 15/16" blade all through high school and Super & teachers knew.
Now I'd be expelled and banned from every school in the country

Longer if there was a show coming on that you really wanted to watch. :)

Did you ever say your age??
I remember going through Akron as a kid and the rubber factory smell was awful.

My dad was a NYC cop, and we owned a big house, but there was no money for a refrigerator and he wouldn't put it on the mortgage, (pay 30yrs), so we had an ice box. How different his values were back than when compared to today. Today you rent, and fill your apartment with junk. He owned, and wouldn't even finance a refrigerator.

So i remember the "ice man" with the big block of ice..................

Old enough to remember Dad driving 6-7 miles to my uncles house on Saturday nights, filling 3 milk cans with water, then watch "GUN SMOKE" on tv, ride back home and listen to the same "GUN SMOKE" episode on radio; unload milk cans (at least Dad did) 'bout all we could do was use the dipper once the water was in the house.....surely ya'll remember the dipper.....and there was always the path to the outhouse! By the way only I'm only 67

Model T from left to right clutch, reverse, brake plus the handbrake lever clutch neutralizer. The choke wire loop coming out of radiator next to the crank. What as the last year Ford V/8 with a crank slot in the front grill?

62 - too old for buckhorn sights, but still young enough to turn the flywheel and start the old 1936 John Deere "A".....
