Several of the grandkids learned on this old rifle as well. I passed it on to my middle daughter years ago so her daughter could learn on it. This weekend, when they came up for Christmas, she brought it along. "Dad, she won't cock any longer."
After breaking the gun down and doing a little research I discovered the firing pin was broken. It is a tubular affair the shooter pulls back to cock the rifle, the curved bar across the bottom engages the sear.
An hour long search did not turn up that part nor the complete bolt. Anyone have a Winchester Model 60 parts gun? Or a Model 60 they want to sell.
