The address looks a bit strange, but that could just be because I don't know that much about addresses in the USA. It certainly is a very interesting document - thank you for posting it. ;)

Would be interesting to look into. I'm not sure when concealed permits and licenses to purchase became law in each state. 1950s seems pretty early for gun control!?

Hyde Park, NY is just north of NY City .... I do know that NY City has required (a hard to get) permit for a very long time

True. NYC is probably the city with the longest history of requiring a permit. May be others, but I can remember people complaining about it even back in the 60s.

She refused Secret Service and drove her own car. Carry was to at least ease their mind that she at least had some form of protection. True it is.
