54 again this morning but it’s going to get hot hot hot. Spokane expects highs in the upper 90’s and to set new high temp records for the next three days. Ugh. It will be a few degrees cooler here at home but who will feel the difference?

Pup’s home from his neutering and is doing great. At first he wasn’t licking the incision area but that didn’t last long. He didn’t come home with a cone but we had this inflatable donut from prior dogs. We all had a bad night of sleep keeping after him to not lick. Poor guy can’t do much for a few days and will miss our morning hikes.

Good Saturday morning, 64° at moment, headed towards 78. Wow!
Should be a wonderful day, the grandson came home from the ballgame with me last night.
We'll find something to get into today. ;)

Great pic vaquero, bet you guys found something to get into.

Another 54 degree morning, rinse and repeat. Got toasty yesterday and is supposed to be a bit more toasty today. Hopefully this is the peak of this current heat spell and next week looks to be much more seasonal with temps in the 70’s. Sure could use some rain.

Not much on tap for today other than attending a neighbor’s end of the summer bbq. That will be fun.

62 this morning under a partly cloudy sky .... unfortunately, our day begins with a funeral .... we are now the only living grandparents for our 5 grandchildren .... the funeral service is set for 11AM at a very large cemetery located in southern Raleigh .... while we've driven by it many, many times over the years, this will be the first time we've driven through it .... by the time of the service it should be partly cloudy, about 69 degrees, with a 0% chance of rain .... yesterday the fellow who applied a ceramic coating to Maureen's 2024 Blazer detailed it .... she really looks sharp .... naturally, on our way home we drove through the only rain shower that fell in our area all day

58 with a pink sunrise in the making. Yesterday was the smokiest day so far this year. We have been very fortunate to have little wildfire smoke this year. Hot again today but the cooldown starts tomorrow. There’s a hint of some rain mid week and if so I’m planning on going up to the property and mowing part of the field. We want to spend several days there this month grouse hunting, plinking and just hanging out so mowing will help keep the dogs from getting too stickered up.

This was in July so I’m sure the weeds are a bit taller today.

Good morning, 53 here with a predicted high around 78.
Just finished off some pancakes, think the grandson and I are going for a woods walk.

64 right now on its way to 82 with a 0% chance of rain .... big day for us .... a crew from ARS is due any minute to come and install a new heat pump .... our 12 year old system has reached the point that we have no doubt, now is the time .... this system will be a significant change for us .... we aren't buying the system, ARS will continue to own it under a fairly new program that is similar to leasing a vehicle .... they will be responsible for any maintenance or repairs/replacement .... we've thoroughly looked into this program and with is pluses and minuses we believe it offers us the best choice .... in addition, I have a medical appointment right after lunch with the anesthesiologist who will be involved in my coming knee replacement

Your grandson gives walking in (on) the woods new meaning. gotta love the energy of kids. Nice looking six shooter on his hip. :D

59 this morning with Smokey skies. Yesterday and probably today is the worst we’ve had it so far this season. No local fires of note and this smoke is from Oregon and central Idaho. High in the 80’s which is better than the 90’s we’ve been experiencing lately. And starting on Wed highs only in the 70’s with maybe, just maybe some rain. Sure hope so.

The Smokey skies are gone and have been replaced with cotton candy skies. (Baby blue and pink swirls) perfect timing as the Spokane County Fair is running this week. Temp is 50 with a high of 80 expected. Tomorrow hopefully brings a little bit of rain and cooler temps. Gotta love September, best month of the year in this area.

Playing golf today starting just after 11:00 and it should be a nice day on the course. Might be a little windy with the approaching low front.

well, its been a beautiful and eventful day .... some good, some not so good .... first we had to take our 8 year old grandson to "Track Out Camp" .... since we also needed to make a run to the dump, we drove our pickup .... right after dropping him off our truck flashed a check engine light alone with a warning that its traction control wasn't working .... that put it into reduced power mode so we limped her home .... we now have an appointment at a local garage to take a look at it in the morning .... and yes, the trash is still in the back of the truck .... next up was a medical appointment for Maureen to have an injection into both of her knees .... looks like sooner rather than later she will have to both of them replaced .... my right one is due to be replaced two weeks from today .... right now it 82 under scattered clouds with no wind .... the AC function in our new heat pump seems to be working well .... compared to our old one, it sure is quiet

Low 50's F this am. It's supposed to be fairly cloudless and get to 80.
Coffee in the Boy Scout mug.
I had to take the step son's dog for a walk and collect a urine sample. Simple enough, except the usual fountain that he is was not this am. He and I took a long walk and then finally...........
Mary will take him to the vets on her lunch break. I did enough.
Work around the place, carrying some manner of small shot gun as it's squirrel season here. This morning, it was the Henry Garden gun. Didn't see anything so far.
I hope you enjoy your day.
Some days I'm Andy, most days I'm Barney........

another busy morning and that has pretty much become the norm .... first up, taking our 8 year old grandson to "Track Out Camp" .... second, taking our pickup to the shop for the problem mentioned yesterday .... third, taking one of my hearing aids back for a repair to the part that goes into my right ear .... its still well before noon and we are back home .... 75 right now on its way 83 under a beautiful, mostly clear, sky with (believe it or not) 1% chance of rain .... :? .... I literally just got off the phone where I was informed that our truck is ready .... the problem turned out to be a $300+ sensor built into the gas pedal .... guess I'll be able to finally haul off the trash .... no medical appointments today but they resume tomorrow

Good morning, little wet out. That tropical depression has slipped up this way.
Woke up to 67°, has dipped to 63° at the moment. Saying we'll be hovering right around the mid 60's all day.
Humidity is at 90%.
Got some cleaning to do on yesterday's plinkers.
Daughter asked if I'd clean up her 10-22, and I did a little on it then ran a few ;) rounds through it and the two SA Marlins of mine.
