58 this morning, first morning in several that it wasn’t in the 60’s. That’s trending in a good direction. Still the high for today is in the middle 90’s. And there’s no end in sight in the extended forecast. We are no longer under an excessive heat warning but an excessive heat advisory remains in place. By the end of next week while we’re at the lake the temps are expected to tickle triple digits again. Weatherguy this morning said that while we are no longer setting new records for high temps we are possibly looking at recordes for continuous days of excessive heat. Normally our hot spells are short broken up be nice cooling periods.

After the dog hike this morning I’m going to give my pickup a good wash. It’s needing a deep cleaning very badly. Tomorrow my golf group is heading out to the farm country west of Spokane to play at a nice course in the town of Harrington. We’re carpooling and I’m the designated driver as I have a rig big enough to haul all four and our gear.

We received 1.4” of rain yesterday. I wasn’t home but am told it came in about 15 minutes. I could see where it eroded my new garage platform.

95 degrees out there. Too freaking hot. Played golf yesterday in the heat in a small farming community SW of Spokane. Ever tho we had coupons for free carts we decided to walk. Dumb, dumb, dumb.

Just looked at our 10 day forecast, 9 more days of 100+ temps and then it's going to "cool down" to the mid and upper 90's.

Hooray a touch cooler this morning. Weather guy said it’s 51 in Deer Park but my thermometer says 58. (Normal for me to be warmer than the official temp for the area). First morning in the 50’s in several days. But wait, there’s more…back to triple digits for Spokane this week with 102/103 this weekend. My poor son has a mini excavator rented this weekend to extend a water line to his barn. Not a great weekend to be outside around hot :x equipment. Me, I’ll be at the lake thinking about him.

Leaving this morning for the lake. It’s going to be way too hot.

Wife was driving to the big city yesterday and a dual side dump trailer passed her and a rock flew out, scared her, lucky there wasn’t an accident!

Here at the lake it’s hot. Not as hot as yesterday afternoon/evening but now at 10am it’s really starting to warm up. Ran the generator and A/C yesterday until around 8pm and shut if off to not disturb others. The rv’s inside temp climbed up to uncomfortable in no time. Rough couple of hours in the sack until it cooled down and I was able to open the windows. My in/out thermometer isn’t working and hopefully a battery change will fix it. Heading out onto the lake here shorty and will find a beach to spend the day. Dogs will love being in the water which is still pretty cold as our friend Redthies keeps sending that cold Canadian water my way.

Possible dry lightning storms later this evening. It’s a tinder box around here and that is exactly what we don’t need. Fingers crossed.

Here’s the view from my lawn chair.

70 when I got up at 5:00 this morning here at the lake. Had a cloud cover come in last evening with the dry lightning forecast. My wife saw some lightning to the north but couldn’t hear thunder so it was a long distance away. Hot right now but I’m on the beach with shade. I’m planning on going into the water here shortly. Tried some fishing this morning but nothing happening. Oh well, got to try out all the systems on the boat.

It was 64 when our pup decided at 5:00 that it was time for the family to wake up. And I had planned to sleep in today. Ha! We should see the upper 90’s today even here at the lake. Then triple digits this weekend with 106 forecast for Spokane on Sunday.

Today is our last full day here and like Coop, tomorrow we’ll be pulling in the slide and heading home. I’m good with that as these lower temps we are having now are miserable in the rv once I turn the genny off which kills the A/C. Last night wasn’t pleasant for the first few hours. Woke up at 11:00 and it was cool enough to open the windows and turn the exhaust fan on. This morning my wife said she was cold.

Fishing was a non event yesterday so for our last day here we’re going to have a relaxing morning and then head to a beach. Enjoy the water and relaxing and watch the dogs enjoy themselves.

Afternoon coffee for me with a big slug of whisky after getting home from the range.
Currently 38 with strong winds making it feel like 10 degrees, not to many at the range and given the only indoor range is the air pistol range that is what everyone was shooting.

60 here at our last day in camp. It’s supposed to be 101 later in the Spokane area and probably 98 ish at my place. Hotter tomorrow and then a cool down it possible the low 80’s by the end of the week. I can appreciate the 80’s again.

Packing up and heading home here in a bit. Still enjoying coffee and the cool breeze coming off the lake. Like Coop, I have lots of mowing and other work around the house waiting for my return,
