I do know that if you kick the 125 gr. XTP out at 1700 to 1800 fps any varmint inside of a hundred yards is going to come unraveled.
That was my plan 5shot, to get that 110 up to about 2300-2400 fps, which I probably did. But like lots of pitchers that can throw 100+ MPH fastballs, where it was going was a bit of a mystery. It is of no value if I can't keep in within a defined area.

There are more than a few people that have offered first hand experience with the 125 grain bullet weight, that it may be worthy of further investigation. I have an older Nosler manual, specifically Nosler #3, which was printed back before they readjusted the pressures for .357 Magnum, and that shows loads for their 125 grain bullet and AA9 that exceed 1950 fps from the 8.3" test barrel. You won't find those loads in manuals now-a-days. I don't think you'll find any Nosler 125 bullets either though, LOL. My older Sierra and Speer manuals are from that timeframe too, and they show similar loads, so at least a point to reference if I do give that a go.

I can tell that I have had great luck with a 158 and 2400. Right in that 14.5 to 15gr range . I would not be scared to use it to shoot varmints or Deer it was that accurate.

Thanks Al. I don't have 2400 on hand, but the load range you reference will help define a good velocity window to match with the powders I do have on hand. And I have both versions of the 158 XTP bullets, the HP and the FP, and both shoot good groups for me.
