Henry All Weather
I was thinking about picking up a Henry All Weather in .357.
I've handled an All Weather 45/70 in a local store.
What's your experience with the All Weather? Do you take it out in all kinds of weather? Hunt with your All Weather? Caliber? Any comments about the finish and durability. Photo?
Thanks for your feedback!

I like my 45-70 All Weather but the bore is not chrome and will rust if not treated like any black rifle after use.

Re: Henry All Weather
Sorry, not able to give you any pros or cons on the Henry All Weather rifles but I personally don't think you can go wrong with a .357 Henry lever rifle. I don't have any negative feelings about the all weather rifles, I just really prefer a walnut stock. I have a Henry Big Boy Steel .357 and it is a great all-purpose rifle. Mine is the older version without a side loading gate.
Definitely give you a thumbs up on the .357

I have one in 45LC, pre side gate. It's sweet to hold, shoot and carry. Plus, it's very accurate and nice to look at when you're in your stand.

Re: Henry All Weather
Already have a BBS in 357, an older one as well. The BBS is accurate, smooth, and fun to shoot. But you know it would be nice to have something in stainless. I do agree I do like walnut but I'm flexible on that as well. No rush to jump all in on an All Weather but if I saw one local it might come home with me.

You do realize that the All Weather is not stainless but heavy chrome plated

Travlin beat me to it, not SS, and not my cup of tea.
I saw one Fri. in y travels, wasn't even interested enough to ask about it.
Now those new Ruger/Marlin 357's were looking mighty temping.
Like Al, hoping Ruger will at least do a limited run of 41 mags. then I'm ALL in.
Did see a Henry 357 with the CCH, nice looking rifle, but was $200 more than the Marlin.

Re: Henry All Weather
I was aware that the All Weather is not stainless. I did want to hear people thougths and experiences with their Henry All Weathers.
Seeing as there are not a lot of made in USA options for a stainless lever action 357, I thought looking at the All Weather would be worth the time to investigate. Waiting for Ruger-Marlin to put out a stainless 357 is about like watching paint dry---at least with the paint you know it's going to dry---
It will become a kind of "what if" timing thing with Marlin---will they ever do a stainless 357? Will I be alive? Will I have the money when one is in front of me?
Life is too short to worry or think about it too much. I'll enjoy shooting my Henry in the mean time and stay focused on what's in front of me.

In my travels Friday I was in a shop that has one of the new S&W leverguns. I didn't look at it, but the guy said he was pretty sure they would do a 357 at some point.
He was asking close to $1200 for it, which was about what the cch Henry I saw that same day.
