Our Morning Coffee and Weather
Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
29 degrees this morning, heading to around 60. Not as windy as last several days. Looks like a nice day to fly the drone. Got some activity 1/4 mile down the road need to check out.
Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
40º this morning but may get to 50º. Got the truck in the shop and will have to get under it to see if there is any evidence of the mount for the original bench seat.
Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
Another gloomy 39 degree rainy windy morning. I’m very tired of this weather as is my dog. He’s wondering why we’re not taking any hikes this week. I’m getting some pretty serious ponding the the normal areas (no concerns). But tomorrow it’s supposed to stop and we should have a nice day including maybe some sun. Then Saturday into Sunday we may see some accumulating snow possibly 3-6” for my area. I’ll take snow over rain any day!. I can still get outside and play in snow but rain just sucks.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
It was 44° this morning but warmed up nicely this afternoon to 72°. It was kind of a lazy day today although I did get some work done this morning.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
colder here right now in central NC than it is in "Rural Dacotah Territory" ..
.. 33 now, calling for 62 later this afternoon .... still calling for heavy rain and strong wind on Sunday .... the rain will be most welcome, the wind not so much .... my wife and daughter are gone shopping, that's scary ..
Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
Back to more normal conditions with a current temp of 30 and NO RAIN. In fact the sun made a brief appearance yesterday. The rain stopped around mid-day so my dog and I were able to take a nice hike. Today should stay dry but another storm is predicted to arrive tomorrow evening and last into Sunday morning. It’s a bit temp dependent but there is a chance of measurable snow requiring plowing.
Not sure what the day will bring other than taking my utility trailer up to Deer Park and spraying it off. My son who lives on a dirt road borrowed it and returned it a big mess. Kids!

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
22 out there with a hard frost on the ground. With all the rain we got this week everything was saturated thus the heavier than normal frost. Kinda pretty in the outdoor lights right now. We are expecting a nice day until later this afternoon when we have a snow storm expected. Should be a quick storm and will be gone by morning. Here where I live we are expecting around 4” of snow. This is wonderful as I have one last place I have many piles of limbs piled for burning. If we get the snow expected I’ll finish up the burning on Monday.
I took this picture when it was just getting light and the sunrise was much more brilliant that this pic shows. The camera lets more light in of the surrounding areas thus the sunrise is diminished somewhat. Oh well.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
I'm sipping coffee right now while it sleets outside. Snow is on the way.
I learned from my Wife to put a dallop of heavy cream in my coffee. It sweetens it without sugar.
I have a very large burn pile out by the pole barn but I don't dare burn it yet. We're still in a drought
condition and I want at least a foot of snow before I light it off. Otherwise the Fire Inspector and the
Fire Trucks will visit me.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
I’m required to keep my fires within a four foot diameter so I create a burn area and stack the rest of the stuff in piles that I have to feed into the fire itself. This pic is a before pic from last week of a smaller burn I did. Here the middle area is where I burned and there are three other piles of limbs I feed to the fire. Takes much longer to do it this way but that’s the rules. I’m lucky I can still burn, most areas around here can’t.cooperhawk wrote: ↑Sat Dec 09, 2023 10:07 amI'm sipping coffee right now while it sleets outside. Snow is on the way.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
yep, the calm before the storm .... today our weather is beautiful .... a few white clouds scattered across a beautiful Carolina Blue Sky .... its supposed to get up to 71 later today .... if the forecast holds, tomorrow will be much different .... a 96% "some rain and a thunderstorm in the morning followed by showers and a heavier t-storm in the afternoon; damaging winds can accompany heavy downpours" .... low tonight 57, low tomorrow night 37

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
It was a warm day today. Right now it's 82° but next week the low is supposed to be in the upper 30's and 40's. I took a short ride on the Harley this morning since I won't be able to get out for a few days due to weather and the fact that the city is going to repair the street in front of the house. They're going to tear up the pavement and pour new concrete. We'll not have access to our driveway for the entire week starting Monday morning at 7:30. We'll have to park our cars on a side street next to our home. I'm not thrilled by it but it is what it is as they say.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
Good morning. all is fine here, had a band of thunderstorms pass through just a bout dark last night.
We did get a bit of quarter size hail for about a minute.
The worst was north, and then north east of us. Looks like up north of Nashville in the Clarksyille area.
We got up to 71 yesterday, it was 38 when I got up, and the high will only be mid 40s today.
Finally replaced the rear sight on the BBB44 last night, may try her out here in a bit.
Happy Sunday.
Oh, Ashley is working this AM.

Mrs. B’s cookie decorating party went well yesterday, got the kids all hyped on sugar then sent them home. Typical Sunday morning here, Mass, breakfast, Skype with the Danes. Everyone have a great day!
