Looks good. I was lucky in that my friend that I Rendezvoused with had a Tepee. Took awhile to set up and he had to set up his truck with a rack for the poles but it sure was nice to have room to get up and walk around. He had also built a screened rack so we (OK, his wife) could cook inside without fear of burning the Tepee down.RanchRoper wrote: ↑Sat Jul 01, 2023 9:15 pmHome sweet home for a few days. Rendezvous.

My tent is 7x7 and 7 foot high at the peak. Can stand up in the middle. Better than crawling around.
Took 4th place out of 25 shooters. Not bad for an old guy with iron sights and no adjustment.

...on the banks of the Oldman River near the Piikani Nation Reserve is that helps....
Yup there was some darn good shooters there, one guy there was 90 yrs old and ringing the 100 yd gong with his flintlock. Peep sight on it but even still.....some nice guns, hawk & knife contest too.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
Do they do prizes for the shooting? At a lot of Rendezvouses I went to everyone would donate some kind of trinket, usually black powder related and the top shooter would get to pick first and then on down the line. I never got to pick first but occasionally was not too far down.
Not a prize but my most favorite item was this card that I wore in my hat for the rest of the Rendezvous, shot it on the trail walk and it had to be shot completely in half to count. Probably as much luck as shooting skill involved.

Yup I popped a card too. Nailed a golf ball at 50 yds as well. There was a prize table and I chose a cool little handmade medicine bag.

Fair, 72°F, Humidity 73%
Wind Speed Calm
Barometer 29.89 in
A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms.
Sunny and hot, with a high near 93.
South southwest wind 5 to 10 mph.
Our youngest daughter and her family came out yesterday for swimming and brats.
We had a really great time with them, but the high light was she brought me a hand
made rag rug in red, white, and blue. Last Winter she had mentioned that she was looking
for a loom so she could make rugs and I made one in my shop and gave it to her for her
birthday. This was a surprise and we will display it in our motorhome for everyone to see.
Oh yeah, coffee and left over lemon merangue pie this morning.

81° with 89% humidity this morning. We did have a brief thunderstorm move through the area late yesterday afternoon. That was a relief. I cooked bacon, eggs, toast and coffee for breakfast.

Woke up to a very cool 43 this morning. Warming up quickly with a high in the low 80’s expected. Just got done washing to boat and will be putting in the shop after lunch. We had a great time the last two days up at the lake with our grandkids. Did lots of tubing and wave running. The three 16 year old boys and the two 14 year old girls had a great time. We’re heading back up today without the boat or dog to have dinner and say goodbye as they are flying out to home early in the morning.
This is our grandson in the middle with his buddies and our dog Trey. Trey had a wonderful two days with lots of new and old friends. His highlight was yesterday when our other son and DIL visited. He had his three favorite people to pester, our two sons and grandson.

74 degrees this morning. Another hot and muggy day for sure. Maybe only in high 90's today. The 100 degree days are tough to handle. Hope everyone has a good 4th of July.

Wind Speed S 5 mph
Barometer 29.93 in
A chance of showers and thunderstorms.
Some storms could be severe, with large hail and damaging winds.
Partly sunny, with a high near 90.
Light and variable wind becoming southwest 5 to 10 mph in the morning.
Happy birthday to my country. Tonight, (if it doesn't rain us out), I will take
part in the VFW opening ceremony for the fireworks in town. It's an honor to do so.

50 and sunny with a high of 85 later. Should be in the mid 70’s this evening when the big firework show starts in downtown Spokane. No plans for us to go to a show even here in Deer Park which puts on a pretty good show for a small town.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
When I woke up this morning I turned to look at the bedside clock just in time to see it go out. Currently we have a power outage which is supposed to last another hour or so. Got the generator running so all is good. Just a local outage affecting only 61 customers. I feel so special.
57 heading to 88 which is way above average for this time of the year. Mid 90’s this weekend which will be 15 degrees above normal. Go away
Not much on tap for today other than doing some weed spraying. Dog is going to doggie day care today and I like to spray when he’s not around.
Forgot to mention, breaking news. Deer Park has a new Tractor Supply store. Today is the grand opening so my wife and I plan to drop in. I have never been in a Tractor Supply store since until now there has not been one in the area.
