Our Morning Coffee and Weather
Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
Thanks Coop. Our Explorer has the push button start feature so I need to take a few and re-read the owners manual on flat towing. I read it a while ago when we first started considering a motorhome and it is possible to flat tow even with the push button start. I do recall that every six hours I need to start it and cycle the transmission.
43 with sunny skies heading to 72 later. Today’s plan is to get the old boat all shined up and placed on Craigslist. Took it out for a cruise yesterday and all is in good order. Ran like a top as expected.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
A perfect 70* here today. Working on my ‘63 Airstream to get it prepped for polishing so I can drop it off this weekend. Lots of riveting and a bit of painting going on.
Hoping to get out for a bit of bass fishing this afternoon. They are nesting now, and biting hard. I’ve never caught one before (90% of our fishing here is trout, with salmon, cod and halibut in the salt water). Not many lakes have bass, but we have both bass, perch and pike as well as trout and kokanee salmon (land locked sockeye). It’s an incredibly hard lake to fish though. I’ve been out a dozen times without even a single bite. Going with our local guru tonight if I go.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
Fair, 50°F, Humidity 54%
Wind Speed Calm
Barometer 30.32 in
Highs in the mid 70s.
Southeast winds 5 to 10 mph.
Coffee and cookies are hitting the spot.
During my four hour shift yesterday I sold almost $500.00 worth of poppies.
People are amazing. All I do is stand there and smile and they keep dropping
money into the can. One guy put a fifty in. Our VFW supports many local
activities with the money. One woman said that her Grandson just started
Little League Baseball and the shirt he wore said VFW on the back and now she
knew where it came from. It's a nice feeling.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
we awoke to a beautiful morning in our part of NC .... if the forecast is right, its the lull before the storm .... rain is supposed to move in late tonight and tomorrow is predicted to be pretty much of a wash-out .... with our departure for South Dakota rapidly approaching, my hope is to get some more items checked off of our pre-trip checklist .... an afternoon appointment at the place where I bought my hearing aids is the only other thing on today's agenda
Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
Woke up to a beautiful sunny 56 with no wind. High today is around 80. Playing golf today so it should be a nice day on the course. Tomorrow we may see some thunderstorms and rain but the rest of the holiday weekend is supposed to be very nice. Next week to with highs in the upper 70’s to lower 80’s and sunny skies. We’re heading down to the Tri-cities area on Wednesday to pick up the motorhome so we’re happy to see we won’t have to tolerate mid 90’s like the day we bought it. My brother is going to ride down with us and drive the truck home so my wife can enjoy the maiden voyage in the Moho.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
It's a hot 90° this afternoon. We had a busy morning taking a trip to Montgomery so the wife could pick up her new glasses. I have a former student that is an eye doctor and we use her, mainly to keep in touch. I cooked bacon, eggs, toast and coffee for breakfast.

Sunny. Highs around 80.
South winds 5 to 10 mph.
Coffee soon. We brought the old motorhome back to the homestead yesterday to
transfer all our goods to the new one. Carol keeps a lot of things in there full time
so she doesn't have to load them every time we go someplace. A LOT of things.
I'm scheduled to do a poppy shift today. Last one of the year. We're taking in a lot
of money.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
the tropical system that they have been predicting would form and come through our area for several days have materialized .... light rain set in a couple of hours ago and if the forecast proves out, it'll be raining off and on for the rest of today .... the rain is cold and the wind is rising .... with the advanced notice, we've not scheduled much of anything to do today
Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
A pleasant but cloudy 52 to start my day. Clouds are moving out so some sun breaks are happening. Today is supposed to be a bit stormy with possible rain and scattered thunderstorms.
Got my boat on Craigslist yesterday and headed to the golf course. Didn’t even finish the first hole and had a very interested lady call. So I agreed to meet her and thankfully I was on the local course so was able to get home quickly. She wanted a test ride so went to a close by lake. All went well and she wants to buy the boat. She gave me a deposit but can’t do her banking until next Friday as she is an Alzheimer’s care provider and has to do 24 hour shifts Tue-Thur. All in all she’s a bit flakey so even with the deposit I’m not feeling great with the deal.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
Fair, 48°F, Humidity 71%
Wind Speed Calm
Barometer 30.14 in
Partly sunny. Highs in the lower 80s.
Southeast winds 5 to 10 mph.
Hot coffee and cookies, church, and then we go a hundred miles down to my
home town to decorate the graves of my family for Memorial Day.
It's a pilgrimage we make twice a year. Now, and in the Fall to bring the urns in
for the Winter.
I may not post tomorrow as I have to get up early for Memorial Day. I'm on the
rifle squad for our VFW and our first ceremony is at 8 AM, then we do 13 rural
and city cemeteries and finish up with beer and subs. Meanwhile all the family
and friends will come to our home for a cook out tomorrow evening. It will be
a busy day.

51 degrees this morning, heading to low 80's, and lower humidity. Another nice day. The lower humidity helps a lot.

Today’s schedule is: Mass, brunch, sort through ammo boxes and shelves, nap. Everyone have a great day!

Hope it works out for you with the boat Hatch. It's 78° with sunny skies and unusually low humidity again today (70% at the moment). I cooked bacon, eggs, toast and coffee for breakfast.

Mostly cloudy early in the morning then clearing.
Highs in the lower 80s. South winds 5 to 15 mph.
Coffee and cookies now, but Carol is going to make me breakfast soon.
I'm up early. Today my VFW will do ceremonies at thirteen cemeteries.
We publish our schedule and there will be a crowd waiting at each one.
I'm on the Rifle Squad.
To my surprise on Saturday I sold almost one thousand dollars of poppies in
four hours. That's not quite right, the poppies are free, we accept donations.

Perfect Memorial Day. It’s sunny, low humidity and no wind. Even this deer is enjoying himself although walking in front of my range might not be the best idea.
