Our Morning Coffee and Weather

A little late posting but it was 58° on the dog walk this morning. I cooked bacon, eggs, toast and coffee. This afternoon it's a nice 83°. It won't be too much longer we'll be griping about the hot and humid weather!

A little cooler this morning at 46 degrees. Mid 70's again. Nice day. Probably try and get some weed eating done today.

49 on its way to 69 under a beautiful, clear Carolina Blue Sky in central NC ....the long range forecast for this coming weekend has just been released ..... if that proves to be right, it will make 10 consecutive weekends with rain .... we've already taken our Sportchassis to a local garage for a pre-trip once over and to check two minor issues .... looking forward to smoking some baby back ribs later on today

A warmer morning at 69° and the usual Gulf air is saturated (98%). I won't be surprised if we hit 90° today for the first time this year. We'll see. The weather people say it's only going to get into the 80's. I hope they're right. I cooked bacon, eggs, toast and coffee this morning for breakfast. This is a slow week. I'm going to see my former student who is an ophthalmologist for my yearly eye exam Friday. She's the one that caught my RVO a few years back and I enjoy seeing her and trust her as a doctor.

We are living parallel lives Hatch! My son put in the last posts on a section of my fencing yesterday while I welded new box sides and rockers into his Tacoma. I will be running the rest of the wire this morning.

We went fishing for a few hours yesterday, but got nothing. Again. I’m beginning to think there are no fish in our lake, although my neighbor pulled a 9 lb rainbow out a few weeks ago. Tight lines amigo!

That’s funny and very accurate. Got the fence in place (field fence) which was a challenge due to the unevenness of the ground and the amount of trees, stumps rocks etc. He has lots of detail work to finish up but that’s stuff he can work on by himself. Gotta go fishing you know

Woke up to 51 and today we expect record setting heat. Spokane should see 88 and here at home 85. Previous record is 82. Starting this weekend we have a nice cooldown to normal temps expected. Next weeks camping/fishing should see mid 60’s with just a slight chance of rain most days. Perfect!

Today I’ll pull the trailer out of the shop and start getting it ready and finish up some yard work.

Yes, wanted to start up our irrigation system but with this mini heatwave we're having the creek is running way too muddy. The little bit of rain we got yesterday helped and we should be able to start it up next weekend when it cools down.

We pipe water from the creek into a small ditch which allows a lot of the sediment to drop out before we pump it but when the creek is running muddy which it often does in the Spring and when we get significant rain it can dump a large amount of sand and mud in the ditch very quickly. Even we're careful about shutting it down when the creek is muddy we still have to dig it out a couple times a year. Also have to weed-eat the trail several times a year and occasionally spray the Poison Oak which is very thick in places along the entire creek.

Still having problems with coffee and cookies. This flu bug has been with me
for two months now. Gastro intestinal irritation that heals slowly.
The last of the snow is gone now and yesterday afternoon I got the old 9N
out and bladed the drive. Today I'll finish blowing the leaves. The wind finally
went down.

another beautifully clear but cool 49 degree morning in central NC ... they say it will only get up to 63 later today which is about 10 degrees than is normal for this time of year .... nothing major on tap, no reason (yet) to so much as crank a vehicle .... our Freighliner Sportchassis tow vehicle is still in the shop .... as busy as the garage stays, they may well not have had an opportunity to look at it yet ....

That’s quite the project Dave. Nicely done and efficient too.

We did hit a new record high yesterday but it was short of the forecast by a few degrees. Two nights in a row we have had an impressive lightning storm with lots of flash and noise but little rain. No word of any wildfires caused by it thankfully. A month or two later and we would be in trouble with dry storms like this.

Got the trailer out yesterday and flushed and sanitized the water system. Today I’ll drain the tank full of water/bleach and flush it all again. Next will be testing all the other systems and prepping for next week’s trip. Today or tomorrow I’ll pull the boat out and test the motors and do other light maintenance to the trailer. (Tires, bearings, etc.) nothing too much.

51 when I woke up and enjoyed a cupu on the patio with the dog. Another couple days of warm temps then a nice cool down to more normal temps and rain on Friday.

Another warm morning. The heat and humidity will be with us very soon. I enjoy living here in the late fall, winter, and spring but can't stand it in the summer. Oh, well, things could be worse. It's currently 67° and a warm afternoon ahead. The weather man says we could be in the mid 90's by the weekend. I thought we might make it to 90° but didn't quite get there. We maxed out at 86°. I cooked bacon, pancakes, and coffee for breakfast.

Heading for the low 80s today. It’s too hot too quick! I was hoping for a nice 65* spring so I can get a bunch of outside work done before summer heat kicks in.

Espresso and toast and I’m heading out there! Finally (after a 5 month wait!) got power connected to my new shop. I’ll hide from mid day heat getting the rest of my tools online.

70’s here. I see all the border and travel restrictions drop next week. Funny, this week I’m a covid carrier travel risk but next week I’m not.

Well that’s good now I can go to the Rocky Mtn National Rendezvous next summer.

That’s quite the project Dave. Nicely done and efficient too.

The ditch was already there. To give you an idea of it's age it used to run across our pasture and down the road in oak board flumes. We replaced all the flumes with pvc and had to do some concrete lining of the ditch due to leaks where the ditch is very close to the creek. When my neighbor was a kid the water entered the ditch where the valve is in the first photo. Now it about a 5' bank there and we have close to a 100' of pipe going up the creek.

Morning to all. A busy few days ahead,(for an old goober thats not working and all that stuff)
Taking my soon to be 90 year old mother to a church yardsale she loves going to first thing this morning... when they open the doors of course, so that as she says "it wont be picked over" then this afternoon go pick up a beef i had butchered. Friday almost a free day.then saturday son and his wife are coming down for cow working day. Thats usually a long day and your ready to get some rest when its over. Sunday drive 50 miles to go to my sons step sons high school graduation... monday a doctors appointment 50 miles away a different direction.
Nothing of real interest to the rest of the world, just a bunch of the stuff and stuff that takes up our lives... i guess just live it and enjoy it... quiet and simple days beat terrifing and skeery days everytime.
Coffee up and do your days stuff. And hopefully, you will be able to enjoy as well.

What a difference a day makes. 37 yesterday, 50 this morning.
Still having trouble drinking coffee. Stomach issues.
Funny this is we went for beer and wings with the gun club bunch last evening and I
ate and drank with no problem. Just a few things that set it off.
We've been looking to replace our motorhome with something newer and I found one I
liked, but Carol hated it, so, yesterday we looked at another one that is OK with me, but she
loved it. Well happy wife happy life. Now to sell our old one.
I guess you could call this a barn find. It's ten years old but only has 17,000s mile on it.
It also has new tires and the interior is like new. The old farmer just can't drive it anymore.
