BigAl52, did you get the 140 grainers in 38special or 357magnum hardness ? I loaded up 50 to test in the 38 special flavor and they were fine ,just haven't had the chance to compare other powders. My recipe protocol now is usually load 50 assorted powder weight, 10 of each and pick the best result then do the same with another powder. Compare the different powders for the best rounds. Ruger revolver usually has more variations than the Henry Big Boy.
I got the harder of the two. Coating is the gold color. I have a Ruger Convertible in 5.5 inch. I also have an older Ruger 4 5/8 barrel. But the older Ruger cylinder throats are to tight for cast bullets. Need to get them opened up. I have a guy here locally that I just located working on another pistol gonna see if he can do it for me. But I wanted to try the 140's because some years back I used the Sierra 140 jacketed and they shot really good. I have Unique and 2400 to try gonna try Unique first. 6 to 6.5 grains and see what I get.

Made a ride to one of the shops that carry supplies, picked up a couple more lbs of 2400, and found a bag of brass.

Getting 38-55 brass and ANY powder from Alliant especially 2400 is cause for celebration!

Nice….great to see 2400 starting to become available. There’s been a little bit around here too.

Hatch, I was there a month or so back and he had some then, there was 3 on the shelf and I got 2 back then also.
Yesterday there was only one on the shelf, so I asked and his daughter said they may have some in the back.
They brought out a case box that had 5 in it, so I got another two and left the 4 there for someone else.
I use it in a few different calibers, not just handguns. Works well in the 38-55 and the 444. ;)
So now I have a bit over 5 lbs. :D
Here in few I'm going to load some 325+ gr cast over 25 grs. of said 2400 for the 444.
It's hoot and slaps the big gong with authority.

These will cycle up through the magazine, but ya have shoot 'em ;) as they are to long to eject out.
They are fun, and suspect they would do a number on deer.
I would like to run a couple across a chrony one day.

And, it looks like I need to fire up the pot and make some.
Only 17 left.
Might as well stuff 'em all.

Forgot about checking the PO box and did this am. There sat my 140's from MCB. Threw 50 together real quick and went to the range with the 40 S&W brass throwers.

Can I ask who MCB is?

I ordered some stuff for myself. I picked up a number of gaschecked bullets for the full power loads. (they also seem to lead the can less as subs.)
