Shorten LOP 357X

Post by Oldbrass » Sat Feb 04, 2023 10:04 am

Handled an X model (not my first wife) and thought it was great except the 14" LOP is to big for me, is there an aftermarket composite stock as Henry doesn't have one. I'm waiting a response inquiring about a youth stock for the golden boy also.. Since my neck fusion surgery I just can't stretch out that far anymore to get a good sight picture .

Henry offers a wood stock kit for the x models. With that you should be able to have a gunsmith put on a new recoil pad. Honestly, you should be able to have a gunsmith shorten the original other stock and fit the recoil to it.

Install a red dot sight and you don’t have to worry about eye relief or the iron sights.

I am shorter individual 5' 5" and my LOP is 12.5" so I have to cut every rifles LOP down that I buy. I avoid synthetic stocks because of this. But if I had your rifle I would look at the all weather rifle and call Henry and see if you could order the butt stock off of one of those. Ask if they would fit ? If it does not fit I would find one of their wooden stocks that will and cut it down texture spray it black and fit a but plate or pad to it.
