Question about the blueing on my H001

Post by dendrig59 » Fri Jan 20, 2023 7:31 pm

The blueing on the barrel of my new H001 is sort of “see through.” It’s blue, but in certain light from the right angle it looks silver. Is this normal, or does this mean the layer of blueing isn’t thick enough? I think it looks really nice, but I don’t want the barrel to rust.

Just keep it rubbed with a cloth with a few drops of oil like you would any other firearm.

Ditto.
Don't know, sight unseen if it's a flaw or not, but all that matters is if you like it.

Thanks for the responses. I thought about using some cold blueing to darken it up, but I honestly like the way it looks now and the cold blueing might leave it uneven and splotchy. I guess I’ll just keep a little oil on it and keep a close eye out for rust. Thanks.
