Finding the right Henry

Post by Luv the lever » Wed Aug 17, 2022 6:58 pm

I have a rifle in mind but not sure just how to track one down. I've looked online only to find "out of stock".

Is there a way to get on a waiting list?

Try the bigger stores. Sportsmen’s Outdoor Superstore or Sportsmen’s warehouse. You will be lucky to find what you want ‘in stock’, but at the bottom of the picture/description there will be a button that says: ‘notify me when available’.

It took me 5 weeks to get my .357 side gate, and two weeks to get my .45 L.C, side gate rifles.
When you get notified that the item is in stock. Jump on it right away. Good luck.

Your first one is the one I'm looking for. Kind of liking the color case hardened for the octagon barrel. I'd love brass but that is the only one not offered with a side gate Not a game changer but nice to have.

Have the CCH 357 and it is a fine rifle. With the new plant open in Wisconsin Henry seems to be catching up a bit. My LGS is starting to get Henrys again.

I saw that, I’m getting greedy with #3 by asking for the octagon barrel and side gate.

Little patience and a little luck. Sportsman's Warehouse provided my .357 brassie and 45-70 side gate. Took months of searching. I put the Henry lever search on SW on my favorites list so I could just click and see if anything pops up in stock. It worked! Just took some time.

Best place to check is Guns International where lots of shops and individuals sell. Find plenty of new Henry rifles there and where I found
my recent 45 Colt X model. Here's one of several you won't find in your typical store... https://www.gunsinternational.com/guns- ... =102036825

Go to https://gun.deals/. It's a listing of many different online vendors. It shows who has what in stock and the price. I've used it for all 3 of my Henry rifle purchases.

Simply enter the model or UPC for the gun you're looking for and it will give you a listing of everyone that his it in stock. Here's an example for a Henry H024

https://gun.deals/search/apachesolr_search/h024

Occasionally you'll get one that shows in stock, but when you go to the website it's actually out of stock, but for the most part it works well.

I feel your pain, I ended up buying my two big boy x's used as new in box. one from GB, and one locally.

I prefer the X with good wood furniture. But yeah, if you are thinking about a 'can' you ought to just bight the bullet and go BBX

Rural King Guns (RKguns.com) almost always has some in stock. Check daily, on Tuesday there were 8 in stock. On Thursday there were 18 in stock. 22lr, 22mag, 357mag w/side gate just to name a few.
