70 and sunny this morning in Calhoun County south Carolina. Thunderstorm passed thru last night dumped some rain and I can hear the grass growing. Hi today of 90 with a calm breeze that's perfect . Today's project is assembling the new harbor freight drill press.

Already 81°just before 9 a.m. with 88% humidity. We're forecast to get over 100° again today. Baked some French toast, bacon, and coffee this morning for breakfast.

High today only 83º. Yesterdays rain cooled thing down a bit. Rain predicted for this afternoon. Guy who was supposed to come from Chicago yesterday to buy my Honda couldn't get a ride so I am going to repost. Got the reloading bench set with shelves on the wall and freestanding shelves and lights so I am going to start hauling the equipment out of the house and decide where I want to drill holes and mount the presses. Going to have to try my hand at it and it scares me a bit which is good. Have read the information in Hornandy, Lyman, and Nosler guides and will go over it again. Will start with 357 or 45 Colt for my Henrys. I know not to get in a hurry and double check each step. Got no one that I know here to work with me so I will be careful.

Woke up to a nice 60 but unfortunately also the smell of smoke. Yesterday we had our first local wildfire break out. It’s burning in steep rocky terrain near the town of Cheney which is southwest of Spokane maybe 20 miles or so. Started at 30 acres and last report from last night is it is now 3200 acres and has burned two buildings (not sure if they are homes or outbuildings) and one fire truck was completely destroyed. It’s been very windy 25-35 gusts so fighting this fire is difficult and it was reported that the winds didn’t die down last night which is not normal.

Today the new 10/22 I purchased will be released from quarantine so I can bring it home and fondle it. Need to find a scope for it as these old eyes need assistance.

I've been loading for over 40 years with no problems whatsoever. I use the Lyman book but also the Speer book for loads. Keep in mind that you can get into more trouble underloading cases from something called "Detonation", but that is very rare.
I load the .357s down to .38 special loads because they are a lot more fun to shoot that way. If you load the .357 up to factory they will rock your world after while and aren't a lot of fun unless you are machoistic.

If you fire and hear a weak "pop" it probably means you didn't get powder in that case and then you must check the barrel to make sure the bullet has exited.

I like to load lead wad cutters for target practice. I like in particular the "Keith Hunter wad cutter". Just be sure to seat them down to the "cannelure" and a light crimp. With not enough crimp in a revolver the recoil will unseat the bullets and they will protrude enough to jam the cylinder.

It's really not too hard. Have fun with it.

This one is 6, and will turn 7 in Oct., and is the son's only child.
Oldest daughter has a daughter that just turned 20 last month, both of these live locally.

Youngest daughter has 3 boys, 2, 5, and 7, with a new born daughter of 3 mons.
They live in SC, the SIL is in the AF.

The electricians arrived at Oh Dark Thirty this morning to finish the install of the Generac System.
Man, those guys get up early.
I need to finish getting the old Winnebago ready for our next trip. Don't worry, I'm taking you all along.
This time it's Duluth on Sunday for three days and then to the Blue Grass Festival for the rest of the week.

For Earnie: The reason I load 357 down to 38 special and not just shoot 38 special to begin with, is that the
lead will build up in front of the case mouth after a few rounds, and then it makes it difficult to shoot the
357 after the 38 as the lead build up makes it hard to insert the 357 into the cylinder.

We had another wildfire break out yesterday about 1.5 hours from Spokane. It burned six homes in the town of Lind WA. A farmer running a combine nearby was the cause of the fire. He was interviewed on the news and said a bearing failed and started the fire. He has his own fire truck but by the time he was able to get the truck to the fire it was too large to fight. 25-35 mph winds at the time so despite his good intentions there was no stopping it. Today is supposed to be much calmer fortunately. This fire is out but the first fire near Cheney WA is still burning with evacuations in place. Sure could use some rain.

Yes, was nice yesterday and only supposed get to 87 today but forecast says back in the 100's by Sunday for a few days and then mid 90's. No rain at all in the 10 day forecast. Unfortunately most rain we get around here in the Summer usually comes with thunder and lightning storms so can actually cause more fires and in more remote areas than human caused fires.

Luckily currently there are only a few fires and no really large ones.

Fair my behind. It's so overcast and dark that the night lights in the yard are on. I think it might rain.
Boy do we need a good rain.
We were invited to Carol's best friends home last evening for dinner. She lost her 51 year old husband a few
months ago to Covid. She's coping as well as can be expected. Sad.
Today I need to get the old Winnebago into the yard to load up for our trip starting tomorrow morning.
The problem is it looks like it will rain on and off all day so I'm going to get wet.
