Would like your opinion.....blued or CCH side plate?
This about my idea to have the side plates on my blued 1873 .44 Uberti Carbine changed to a CCH look. Talked with Tyler Gun Works and Bobby said he could do the color case on the side plates and has done this before on the blued Winchesters.
The .44 Carbine does have the CCH hammer, trigger and lever as it comes. I simply switched the plate from my 1873 .45 Colt rifle just to see what it could look like. Of course the CCH that Tyler does would look much better than the Uberti acid dip looking much like a CCH Henry.
What do you think? And also the CCH 1873 rifle with blued side plate. Maybe just swap them out for a while!

Think I'll keep the 1873 45 colt with it's CCH side plates.

Just doing the side plates, doesn't really do that much for me.
Now it and the rest of the receiver, Yes.

The change may help with scratches from loading?

I kinda like the contrast with the blue receiver and the CCH side plate. But I’m one of those who likes two tone pistols. However, the CCH receiver with the blue side plate is not appealing.

I'm also with Vaquero on this one. I like CCH on the whole thing. To me, the side plate switch makes each one look like a work in progress. Just MHO.
