The only things I got against it is, you have to use the expensive dillon square deal B dies. You can't use other dies. I have the RL550B and I can use any brand set of dies. The square deal B can only reload pistol cartridges. Your not able to reload rifle cartridge on it. Plus, the square deal B has auto index for the shell plate. The RL550B has a manual index shell plate.

Another thing to consider is that it only has room for 4 dies from what I can tell. That would be a problem running a separate seat and crimp die, and a powder check die. I would opt for the powder check over the separate crimp die myself. The other option would be to decap/size separately, and then run decapped brass through the progressive. Adds an extra step, however, some like to decap and then tumble before loading. In that case it would be fine.

What he said. My son-in-law and I were looking at unit and were urged by other reloaders we knew to go with the 550B. I have to say, we are going on our second year of reloading and are very happy we got the 550B. We are using Lee dies for all our calibers and we are very happy with them.

a little over a year ago, when we decided to go to a progressive press, we took a long look at Dillon presses .... we were impressed with everything but the fact that we couldn't use the RCBS dies we already have on hand .... we ended up going with the Hornady Lock-n-Load and have been very pleased with it

I have a 650 and love it.
I use RCBS dies in most of the calibers I reload.
I also have a case feeder. It's very fast.

I would certainly want a press that would do any cal.
I have a Lee 1000 progressive set up for 9MM, need a couple things to get it going. But also have a single RCBS
that will take and work w/most any die or caliber

You can get a single stage Lee Precision 50th Anniversary Reloading Kit for just over $130 at Amazon. I bought mine for $115 and have seen it at that price recently. They have a great warranty and very responsive customer service.

I have happily been using mine for two years with the four die set for .38/.357 calibers. I regularly reload 100 to 150 rounds per week in about an hour. I do, however, clean and prime my spent cases as soon as I return from the range, so the reloading task is split in half.

I do the same, but w/more calibers. 1st separate, then size/decap/clean. Whenever, trim and expand.
Then I prime and load, again whenever I got free time
