Ammo supply good in your ‘hood?
Re: Ammo supply good in your ‘hood?
Found some 357 today at LGS. PPU brand JHP 158 gr for $36.99/box of 50. Not what I was looking for, not familiar with PPU, but get it when you see it. Picked up 3 boxes. They told me they may get some Hornandy 45 Colt next week and said they would set a couple boxes aside for me. Have not seen 45 Colt in a very long time.
Re: Ammo supply good in your ‘hood?
Found some 38 Special +P online for $35 a box. Shipping was $17 for 2 boxes. So, I passed. Wanted to get some for wife to target practice with. She did fine with 38 Specials in my S&W 65. Wanted to give a try with S&W M360 and 38 Special +Ps. Due to the lite frame, that may be the sweet spot for her. I will probably see what my LGS has. Yet, I still will probably push for her to try 357s in the lite frame. For me, I can shoot 4-5 rounds, before I have to give my hand a break.

Starting to see some 38 spl. ammo, but no 357's.
Now the 45 colt, that's definitely haven't seen in a good while.
But I have a good amount of reloading supplies for both,
Thank goodness.

I did see 38s and 357s at LGS today. But, no 38 +Ps. Lots of 9mm, some 327s, 22s and others that I did not pay much attention to. Have plenty of 38s and 357s, but not as many 38 +P as I would like. So, I will keep looking.

You just described my local Wally World almost exactly.
Been seeing those yellow Winchester 300 rounders for about three weeks. Unfortunately, even for WW, they are about $10.00 to $15.00 over priced compared to what I'm seeing the same thing online.
Have seen the 308's and 20 ga as well.

At Academy the other day they had a 200 rd bx of those Winchesters, I saw the price.markiver54 wrote: ↑Sat Feb 26, 2022 10:38 pmYou just described my local Wally World almost exactly.

Then when I got closer I realized the box was smaller.
Made the price insignificant, and I don't recall.

Re: Ammo supply good in your ‘hood?
There were a few boxes, probably around 10 or so. I noticed them, because they were located close to the 38/357 section. I believe 45s were there also. Since I was looking for 38 +Ps, I paid little attention to the others. But, the shelves are getting full, just not with what I was looking for.

Re: Ammo supply good in your ‘hood?
Picked up 2 bricks of Norma 40 gr lead round nose high velocity .22 LR for $60 each at Rural King this morning. They had these on sale and had been marked down $30/brick. Would not have considered them otherwise. Their ammo prices are not so great. They also had 32 cal for $49.99/50.
Didn't get those.
Re: Ammo supply good in your ‘hood?
I finally found what I was looking for at Midway. The price was higher than I wanted to pay. But, availability is what got my attention. It had some Gold Dots for short barrels that I wanted to try. I even picked up a box of .357s, while I was buying. Now, I think that I may start focusing on handloading/reloading. Moving forward, I will probably be doing more target practice than anything. So, reloads or handloads should work fine for that.

Found a gun shop nearby that I didn't know existed. It masquerades as a hardware store....lots of gun and ammo, primers, lead....picked up 300 more .50 cal lead balls.

Picked up 2 boxes of Fiocchi Cowboy Action 45 Colt 250gr RNFP today $50/box. Not exactly what I was looking for but I can't remember the last time I saw any 45 Colt so I am thankful for anything.
