Target set up:

Always a good day when you're burning smokeless powder.

Thanks Forty. My gun club range is fairly big and there usually is nobody there. i just drag the steel out and have fun. Everything in that picture I move from my truck on one hand truck. It take about 10 minutes to set up or take down.fortyshooter wrote: ↑Mon Feb 21, 2022 7:01 pmNice pair of shooters Paul and that is a nice clean target layout! Always fun banging the steel!

Hoping you heal quickly and get back to shooting.BrokenolMarine wrote: ↑Mon Feb 21, 2022 11:34 pmCongratulations, it looks like you had a great day, and props for sharing the steel, I would have too. More fun to shoot with someone.
I miss shooting my steel, it's always a blast. Once I get my range up here, I'll have the plates set up and they'll likely stay. I have pepper poppers, a steel B27 and a number of swingers that I haul out as needed. Steel is great for teaching new shooters as well. Instant feedback. A cheat I learned, when the wife is ready to throw out those old cheap frying pans, don't toss them, hang them on the range. They ring for a while...
Thanks and yes it does save knuckles.zara_puppy wrote: ↑Tue Feb 22, 2022 12:11 amThe paracord on the lever not only looks cool, but I bet it’s quite functional as a knuckle pad.
Thanks Tom. The load I've been using is 158 gr. RNFP from Sinclair Enterprise, 6.2 of Universal over a small pistol primer. I prefer to use small pistol magnum primers but I'm out of those. I've also used small rifle primers (non-magnum) with the same result as the magnum small pistol primer. The magnums or rifle primers give a little more punch and add about 50-60 fps. Right now I saving my last small rifle primers for .223 loads since I've been shooting a lot of those.

That’s about my limit too.
