I went next door yesterday to help my neighbor clean and oil some handguns and enjoyed it so much I decided to do a few of my own today. I got to the two Gen III Smith & Wessons but before I could start on the Springfield 1911 Mrs. hatchdog needed help moving some furniture. Never did get back to the cleaning project so I’ll have to continue another day. Simple minds are…well you know.

Remember, it's not how many guns you have. It's how many bullets you have.
Re: Handgun cleaning
I picked up a 659 a few weeks back. I had been looking for one for quite a while. I haven't broken it down for a full cleaning yet. It needs it. I have been repairing the rear sight and a couple of other minor issues. once I get it sorted I'll break it down to its parts and get it clean.

Re: Handgun cleaning
I detail clean mine every now and then... But I'm usually surprised at how little buildup I find since I shoot moderate loads and clean them after every session.

You can tell a lot about the character of a man...
by the way he treats those who can do nothing for him.
