Our Morning Coffee and Weather
Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
16 heading to 32 with overcast skies. Had a good dose of sunshine yesterday, I could get used to that.
Planning a trip to Coeur d’alene ID this morning to check out a “new” sporting goods store. A store that in the 70’s started in a garage (I delivered goods to them several times so I saw firsthand the humble beginnings). Since they have moved into bigger and bigger buildings most recently they took over a closed Sportsman’s Warehouse store which is quite large. The property this store is located on belongs to Costco who has a store next door. Costco wants to expand their parking lot so Black Sheep (this store I’m talking about) had to move. So, they bought a small mall, yep that’s right, a mall. They have opened several speciality shops in the “mall” including a workwear shop, knife/optic shop, shoe/boot/gift shop, drink wear (coolers etc) and others. Recently they have moved all the inventory from the former store except guns and ammo. Haven’t been to the new store yet so it’s an outing for today. Plus they are dog friendly so our pup get to shop too.
Think about it, from a garage to a mall. Sporting goods are alive and well in the Northwest.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
It was a cold 36° this morning on the dog walk. Right now it's warmed up to 48° at 10:00 a.m. local time. Just fixed some cereal, toast and coffee this morning for breakfast. Went to the range late yesterday afternoon and shot 100 rounds of 9mm in the P229. There was a brisk wind of 12 mph and gusting to around 20 at times. I was wanting to shoot a bit more but decided that was enough. I'll wait until it gets a bit warmer to go back.

We're in a roller coaster for weather. Nine below yesterday to eighteen above this morning. Then
back below zero next week. Oh well, we leave of Florida in two weeks. That's if I can get the Motor Home
out of the driveway.
You Southerners complain about a little snow, I have banks six feet tall along my drive right now.
Well, I've done it before, I'll get it out again.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
-2F last night and heading to a single digit high today. The sun is out fully and it's a beautiful Saturday.
Still have a half a pot of coffee which I'm drinking in the Smith and Wesson mug.
Hatch, That mall sounds pretty neat. I hope to hear more about it later. Some photographs would be neat too.
I'm half thinking about going out to hunt rabbits, but it's also about the exercise. I wish I had the snow shoes that are up at camp.
I hope your day is good.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
Thank goodness, starting out at 32° a couple three very nice days ahead...will give me time to get prepped for the nasty winter storm and cold coming Wed night on through Friday or so, ( at least they are squealing it's coming , so I better get ready) nice to have warnings.. the weather forecasters are always correct but it beats living totally in the dark... ah well it's winter. You get some knocks..... coffee up and proceed. Got inside stuff to keep me busyon bad days, I'm painting on a picture, and am trying to piece together a single shot 243 to give as a present to a friends little boy. Got a stock bought,( needs stripped and refinished, got a reciever bought,( needs trigger guard changed out to a nifty brass one I found that a gentleman machines out in his garage out in Kansas, and, I think I have a deal made on the barrel.....so hopefully, I will get it all put together this winter... stuff and stuff.. so it goes.... coffee up and do....

11 degrees in Southern New Jersey. Recovering from first big snow storm in a while. 8-12 inches of snow on Saturday. Cup #2 of coffee and a bowl of Cheerios with a banana. Have a blessed and safe day.

24 heading to 33 with a bit of a cloud layer. Woke up to a light snow that has stopped for now. Forecast has been revised now saying that us in the northern valleys might see up to 4” with the bulk coming in tonight.
Other than starting to get my income tax docs sorted not much else on tap for today. I plan to watch the Rams vs 49’rs game later today just to see our local star Cooper Kupp whoop up on them furtyninr’s. San Francisco has won the last six meetings so the Rams are due. Not a fan of either team as they are divisional rivals of the Seattle Seahawks but for today I’ll suck it up and put my Rams cheering in place.

This all started when I made a bunch of cutting boards for them out of Red Oak.
Now they want matching trays. Oh well, keeps me busy and out of the bars.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
I am blessed. I have a nice heated and air conditioned shop on the hill next to the house.
I use it almost every day just putzing around and building stuff. I also restock and restore
firearms in there.

Folgers and sausage. Still trying to lose a pound or two.
It's supposed to thaw today and then tomorrow slam us back in the deep freeze.
Below zero again tomorrow night.
But then, warmer by the week end.
I need to get the chains on the tractor and move some snow. The yard is getting crowded.
Also have some projects in the shop to get finished.
I keep busy.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
That’s a beautiful shop Coop and looks warm too! Would love to have a heated area away from the home living quarters to do tasks like cleaning guns and doing maintenance on non-highway vehicles. Enjoy that wonderful building.
26 heading to 33 with a bit of a breeze. Weatherman says we’re at 13 windchill. Looking at single digits overnight midweek. Had about an inch of snow overnight, just enough to make me go out and do some shoveling. Good to get out.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
18 F going to 25 F today. Another day of full sunshine. A beautiful day.
Coffee is brewing and it will go in the Henry mug when it's done in a few minutes. I put it off for a while today while I was watching the local deer in their daily habits.
I've got a short errand lined up then the rest of the day is lined up for some indoor projects.
I hope your day is good.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
My next door neighbor owns a furniture refinishing company and he handles a lot of fire damaged good for several
insurance companies. Often time there are guns that, although not destroyed, have damage with fire residue and other
chemicals on them. He brings them to me and pays me to restore them. Most often a good cleaning is all that is required.
I have handled some really nice firearms and often I need instruction on how to dissemble them. I always find something
on U-Tube that tells me how to do it.
I rather enjoy returning those firearms to the owners who have lost most of their other possessions.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
It was a bit warmer this morning on the dog walk. TV said it was 53° outside but my senses tell me it was more like the low 60's. It's been raining most all day and will continue into this evening. Just had cereal and coffee for breakfast this morning.
