Getting back to normal here. It was 51° this morning on the dog walk. Currently it's 59° and headed to 76° for the afternoon high. Fixed oatmeal, toast and coffee for breakfast.

Temp is 28, which is also the high for the day, and they are predicting 1-3 inches of this white dirt.

24 heading to 28 with snow falling. Over 4” so far with a forecast of 8-12. Then a big warmup overnight which will lead to a big wet sloppy disgusting mess. Wish it would stay cold, snow is much easier to deal with when it’s light.

I did some roof clearing yesterday and took these pics before I pulled the snow down. Kinda cool how the snow formed with the wind we had the other day.

It's crazy here, at least a foot and a half last night and it's still coming down. All the schools are closed, I worked for Eastmont School for 35 years and we never had a snow day in that time. I remember one time we had a similar snowfall but it was over Christmas Break. I'll take some photos later.

A couple photos of last nights snow. I removed all the snow from the shed the tractor is in so that is all last night's snow. The tractor/plow worked but because the snow was so deep there was no place for the snow to go on the first pass so could maybe go about 10 feet and then had to get off and shovel the snow to the side. I'm not much for shoveling anymore due to my COPD, spent a good 8 hours and only got my driveway about half done. It took a good 3 hours just to get the tractor from the shed to the driveway. Anyway I'm beat and will still have some more to do tomorrow.

My friend who stays in her 5th wheel in my back yard is going to get a young, strong friend of hers who will do a lot of shoveling for us.

Hopefully we won't get another big snowfall this Winter, I have no room left to plow it to, would have to rent a bobcat to move the piles of snow.

It's been over 20 years since we've had this much snow and hopefully will be at least that long before we get snowfall like this again so I won't have to deal with it.

Cold....(to me, and that's what I consider as pertinent ) 13° wind chill low single digets...
At least the weaned chest are gone! Now just cow herd to tend and that will be a later up in the day in a heated tractor cab... so I moan and complain, but it could be worse... when I was young I had to feed them in the dark at night after I got in from work on a tractor with no cab.... i've progressed some. Which is good, cause I'm not as tough as I used to be.... however I have gotten better and moaning and grunting.... anyway, winter is here, and to not be a totally negative Joe, I do see that the weatherman says it starts warming up tomorrow and should be tolerable most of next week... an anyway, I do have my hot coffee now.... and I'm not having to flee my homeland or any of that stuff... so it's actually pretty much all ok..... so put on the heavy coveralls and wander on.....

Dropped down to the low 40's this morning. The weather temps have been just like a yo-yo as of late. Tomorrow is supposed to be warm again then another cold front on Sunday. I just had cereal and coffee this morning but fixed bacon and eggs for the sis-in-law as that was a request for her birthday!

Looks like you folks in central and eastern US are getting the Arctic Blast we “enjoyed” last week. Hope if warms up soon for you.

What a mess. Yesterday we received 8” of nice light easily moved snow. Then came the “mess”. Next was a layer of freezing rain followed by another couple inches of snow and now it’s raining on top of all that. Fortunately I was able to plow/blow/shovel most of the snow yesterday but I will have some to move today. It’s getting so deep and my piles/berms are closing in that today I’m going to have to get the tractor out. It’s too heavy for my UTV plow to move plus I need to use the loader to pile the snow higher to make room for the next storm. (Nothing forecast so far). Thankfully when my son was over a few days ago he helped me get the rear blade mounted on it. (It’s too heavy for this old man to move alone now a days).

My poor pup. Yesterday he was in heaven, running and jumping through through the snow even tho it’s as deep as he is tall. This morning I took him out to process his food and water and he could barley get thru what now is nearly concrete snow. Here’s a couple of pics from yesterday when all was good.

Hey Dave, our local news was all over you guys and your snow amounts. Pretty crazy what the east slopes and central Washington received. Some pretty incredible amounts reported. Best to you and good luck with the mess. Wish I lived closer to lend a hand.
