45-70 shot vs. covid critter.......

Post by fortyshooter » Fri Dec 24, 2021 7:20 pm

Had to get some covid revenge today and did so with a special Pb 325 vaccine fired from a Marlin 1895 45-70 !
Pb.... as in lead.... and 325 gr. of it going around 1800 FPS was the two shot dose that destroyed it much to my pleasure. The first shot sent some of those wooden prongs flying pass me and I was about 15-20 yds away and blew out the bottom of it. 2nd shot destroyed it...the 45-70 is a beast on a bowling ball!

On the video...once again the heavy recoil reaction tilted my camera down a bit but you can see the damage.

Now on with Christmas!

I might be a bit jaded because of the times we now live in but I think that’s the best looking and most deserving of a 45-70 impact target in existence.

Nicely done on the manufacture and the destruction!

Agreed in spades. Only wish I had been there in person to watch it die.
Harsh for Christmas morning, but I stand by that statement :D

Now my wife wants to know where her bowling ball went! To a great cause and healing event I said.... she got a good laugh out of it!
Sent the youtube link to my son and he enjoyed it said it made him feel a bit better which is great. I was cleaning out a closet before Christmas and found that green bowling ball the wife used we went went bowling like 38 yrs. ago and it hadn't been used since. I put it in the garage for a future target use and boy did it come in handy! I never throw much stuff away.
Glad you folks enjoyed it too !

Always wondered what a good load would do to a bowling ball. Now I know. Thanks Forty!!

I've two in the garage that haven't been used in a couple of decades. I was thinking about setting one on a fence post and my son and I get out our .223's and see who can knock it off. Probably take us all afternoon to get it done.
