A comment on your comment, JCN. A few years ago I had some training/practice for 3-Gun competition; it was with a former Marine, who helps train local police to prep for their quals, and also has training available for those interested in long-distance shooting. Anyway, 3-Gun is a very fun and challenging shooting sport; I liked it a lot....especially the shotgun portion.
I read one interesting "definition" to the question, "What, exactly, is 3-Gun?" I think it's close to accurate:
3-gun is as close to a real-life first person shooter video game as you’ll get without joining the military!
There were moments as I went through the 3-Gun training sessions that I actually thought I was back in the military!
