Our Morning Coffee and Weather

This is potted in my yard. Starting to wane some as the season is changing, but was beautiful all summer.
It thrives in sun to part shade. Called " First NiIght " ( ornamental napier grass, Pennisetum ).
Grows to about 6'. It is however an annual.

It was 63° this morning at 6:30 a.m. when walking the dogs. Cooked bacon, eggs, toast and coffee for breakfast. My wife doesn't eat breakfast so I cook for my sister-in-law and myself. No work today but will go to the grocery store for some items I need to cook supper tonight.

69 on its way to 80 later today with "Passing Showers" .... in fact, "Showers" of one kind or another are in the forecast for each day between now and Monday .... we got back home from spending the summer in Estelline about 6 weeks ago .... since then we've see light rain during a couple of days .... with us packing up tonight and due to be camping for the next three days, its no surprise mother nature would send rain now ..Roll Eyes (Sarcastic) .. regular breakfast with Folgers freely flowing through a Henry mug .... watching Robin Williams in the movie RV .... I'm not a Robin Williams but RV is one of our favorite movies

Folgers and chocolate chip cookies.
Got blood drawn yesterday morning and practically before I got home the results started to
come into my in box. What used to take days now is done in minutes. Have not heard from my
Doc yet, but pretty sure he will comment later today.
Anyway, I am low on red cells and hemoglobin. White cells are fine.
I know, more red meat, but I already do eat a lot of meat.
It does explain why I feel tired a lot though.
I think my cookies in the morning might be gone.

Today: Partly cloudy today. It’s currently sunny and 55; the high will be 79. Have to go to big city to get new contacts then maybe sneak off to shoot the Bond derringers. Everybody have a great day!

28 heading to 56 and a sunny day is forecast.

Might head into town and pick out some new eyeglasses. I don’t wear them full time but I’m finding I’m wearing them more often. Especially while driving at night which I do very rarely. Of course nighttime is coming earlier every day.

May have to blow out the sprinklers as we have several consecutive nights in 20’s coming next week.

Going to my eye doctor tomorrow Hatch. She happens to be a former student of mine way back. She's 40 this year and makes me feel old. Anyway currently 73° and sunny. Just had cereal, toast and coffee this morning. I'm going to the bank in a few to make a deposit and then do a bit of work.

Scattered rain today but we need it.
Got the motorhome home last night and it's in the barn. Still some work to do but next week.
Cleaning up the barn yesterday and today. Hanging up some tools and putting others away.
Winter is coming and I'm getting ready.

30 frosty degrees out there but heading to a very nice October 62 degree sunny day.

Today we’re heading back into Spokane to pick up our new eyeglasses. Went to Eyemart for the first time and we were told the glasses would be ready in one hour. Since we had the new pup at home in his crate we didn’t want to wait around so instead we headed home to tend to him. Before we got halfway home we received texts saying they were done. Wow!

After picking up our glasses we’re going to make a run up to an area called Greenbluff which is a community of U-Pick farms and orchards. A place up there has take and bake pies and they have a apple/Carmel pie that has my attention. We’ll take the pup with us this time since we won’t be spending any time away from the car other that dash in/dash out. Good to give him an outing.

46 overnight here and headed to 77 today. Wife is still gone and Fed Ex is coming with my Black Powder and needs an autograph. So Im awaiting the arrival.

26 with a heavy frost out there. Not sure of the high as the news hasn’t come on yet but I expect it to be in the low 60’s. Tonight brings rain and some medium winds so that ought to knock more pine needles out of the trees.

The WSU Cougs kick off today at 1:00 playing the Oregon State Beavers who are the surprise team of the PAC 12 this season. On my pick sheet I selected the Beavers to beat the Cougs. Hopefully my reverse psychology will work again this week. Last week I picked the Cougs to lose and they won. Go figure.

Don't know where the fog and mist are, the sun is shinning here.
Folgers and double chocolate Orios.
I think I mentioned that a young man who lived with us for a few years when he was young
is in the area. Well, he is leaving for Oklahoma this morning. His work here is done and he is
missing his wife and family, so last night we took him out to dinner. We gave him his choice
of BBQ and Mexican. He said where he lives there aren't any Mexican restaurants, so we went
to one.

Now he is retired Army, served in both gulf wars and did several tours in Iraq and Afghanistan,
so he does have a way about himself. Quiet and self assured.

Anyway, he is tall and lanky and wore his straw cowboy hat and jeans and boots. I said he looks
like the Marlboro man and he reminded me that the Marlboro man died of lung cancer.

So at the restaurant he drew some curious looks. He looks like he just stepped out of an old
Western Movie and there were some little guys who just stared at him like an idol.

We had a really good time and hope to see him again.

BTW, he has a degree now in business and has his own company doing carpenter work. He has four
children and numerous grandchildren and is living a full life. Man am I proud of him. He is 53 now.

54 here right now headed to 73 today. Cooler weather coming for this next week. Need to get the backyard summertime stuff drained for the upcoming cold weather Summer is gone and now its just a matter of time until we head south.

Well, my Doc got back to me and it wasn't as bad as I expected. Just avoid cholesterol and
take some iron pills. Otherwise everything is functioning normally. Man, I have to say he sure ordered
a lot of tests. I got results for three days. There must have been thirty different results.
Well, almost 81 and still ticking along.

Hooray, the cookies are still OK.

Big changes coming to Wyoming next week. After a much hotter than normal summer with practically no moisture, the white stuff is predicted. Weatherdude is predicting 10-15” in town for us, which will mean a couple of feet for the mountain. When it rains (or snows), it pours.
