Woke up early today (4:30 ) so as I typ this I am well caffeinated. 60 this morning and I just returned from a walk snooping next door where the house is finally being framed. Poor folks have been trying to get a house built for over a year now. Happy for them. Leaving shortly to hit the golf course with my son and his in-laws who are visiting from Arizona. They were local residents for several decades but moved south upon retirement. Anyway, the smoke is better today than yesterday but it is expected to get worse as the day progresses. Hopefully not extremely bad before we get done playing. Upper 90’s for the high so my afternoon plans include being indoors in the clean, cool air.

Wish me luck, I put the bat signal out for a Ruger Single Seven and I have a local guy with one he is willing to sell. I put my fancy Ruger 10-22 up for sale hoping to buy the revolver.

Taking Carol to the Mayo today for some problems. It's about an hour away and we'll
have lunch there prior to her appointment. Hopefully nothing to worry about.

I've got a single seven and it shots very well. Can't tell much difference between that and my single six when shooting .32 S&W Longs in it. Kicks a bit more with .327 mag. 87° with 72% humidity at the moment. Rain in forecast for the weekend. Made bacon and flapjacks this morning. Yeah, Coop, those toaster strudels are pretty good. They wife hasn't bought any in a long time as everyone in the house seems to be on a diet but me!

It's in the 60's this morning and I just had a good chuckle. Checked the weather forecast and there is a "HEAT WARNING" issued for the area because it's going to be....better sit down....88F! Well I was going to the range today but I sure don't want my black powder to blow up!!!! Or the barrel to glow bright red!!! Yikes!!!!!

Now, I seem to recall that when we were kids we played outside in 90F summers all the time. Biked, ran, swam, dawn to dark 7 days a week all summer. Nowadays, no matter what is going on in the world, all these experts tell us we are supposed to be terrified and run for cover. Even more so if the doom and gloom comes from a "scientist".

Anyhow, tea in my Henry mug, then off to the range to make smoke that will mix with all that terrible cow manure methane in the atmosphere and help keep our summers warm and toasty, and the scientists employed.

83° with 83% humidity! Rain in the forecast for later this afternoon/evening. We got a pretty good shower yesterday afternoon. Cereal, strawberries, and coffee for breakfast.

Dang Roper, how you gonna get thru the day with all those chemicals and sun rays running through your body.

57 and smoky to start the day with a forecast of the upper 90’s later today. Probably not going to get there, the last couple of days the smoke has kept the high 5-6 degrees below the forecast highs. Played golf yesterday (yes, in all that bad stuff Roper mentioned) and at the start it felt even a little bit cool.

Today it’s home to continue working on chores, I still have about a half truckload of gravel to move and the lawn to mow. Play day, work day, play day, work day. Now that’s just not too bad.

No rain in the near future. Really dry here.
Trip to the Mayo yesterday and waiting for test results. Nothing serious, I hope anyway.
My trees are dropping nuts early. I'm collecting Black Walnuts and Hickory nuts every day now.
It's way too early for that but I think it's because of the drought.
I have one big walnut that's bearing nuts and many smaller ones that will in time.
I also have numerous Hickory trees bearing nuts, and of course tons of acorns.

Was 60 over night headed to 93 and its humid here. I just finished 30 minutes with the HW97 in the back yard. Wanted to go out east to shoot today but its just to hot. Sweat was pouring off me when I sad to heck with this Im going in.
