Took 2 of my grandkids to range today, my grandson brought his Mossberg 702 and my granddaughter put her order in for me to bring the Henry pump. They had a lot of fun shooting bottles, rimfire ground toys and clay pigeons. Then they started to see who could shoot the best on paper. The Henry was out performing the Mossberg and finally grandson asked if he could shoot the Henry. He really loved it, he put 100 rounds down range. He came up to me and told me that if I ever needed an idea for a gift for him he would take a Henry pump. We really had a good time, I love taking my grandkids to range.

It doesn’t get any better than that Grandpa BRM. I wish I had the same opportunity. Those kids will remember that for a lifetime. I bet Grandpa might even be thinking about getting another pump.

A Leupold VX-Freedom 1.5-4 20 mm, it’s a great scope for rimfire!

What a wonderful way to spend the day. Those two will always remember shooting with Grandpa at the range.

 that’s me, green with jealousy. I’m currently visiting my grandkids at their home in the big city so no shooting around here. And when they visit us their liberal mother won’t let them shoot guns. A loss for them and me too.

Great pictures and your grandkids obviously are having a great time.

I forgot to post this pic of them shooting paper at 85 yards. Don’t have a pic of proud GPa with a puffed up chest

They came and asked since was a nice day can we go to range? So they picked out the Henry pump and I brought a long a 10/22 with a scope, wanted to find out if grandson really liked the pump or if it was because of the scope and his Mossberg has iron sights. He shot 3 mags out of the 10/22 and then asked if he could shoot the pump. Well he put 7 columns from the speed loader down range. They shooting aluminum cans, old plastic bottles, clay pigeons, balloons, shot gun hulls. They’re kind of competitive, they even played a game HORSE with 22’s a good time was had by all.

Those shotgun hulls are fun to shoot. I like shooting those with the Marlin 60. About need a scope to chase those around though. Old eyes dont see those to well at 50 yards. Its great that you take them BRM. Is it a regular range or just a place you go shoot

It’s a small range that has backstops every 25 yds and a dirt berm at the very end, it’s out in the country about 10 miles out of town. It’s on an honor system: pickup brass, remove your targets, clean up your trash. Very small operation😋

I can understand him liking the pump over a semi. Working the action is half the fun.

Yep, just like cycling a lever is much more fun than a bolt.

I apologize for being late to the party BRM, but these are outstanding pics of your young uns. Beautiful kids, beautiful day at range, and the constant crack of 22's... whats not to like?
