Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
Currently 87° and sunny. It's not supposed to rain until midweek or so. Coffee so far. I'll get some breakfast in a bit. Looks like it's saxophone repair week this week. I took in three yesterday with one being a full blown overhaul. BTW here's a video of one of my former sax students. He also plays with a group in Dallas called Snarky Puppy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e0zbn7xT6mM

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
60 with a smoky overcast as we sup our morning coffee here in the campground. Going to start packing up shortly as we are leaving early in order to attend my uncle’s funeral in Spokane. He’s the last of his generation in our family and had a good run of 90 years.
Looking at the mid 90’s and smoky today but at least back home we have A/C. Been a bit of a challenge here in camp keeping the trailer cool without A/C. These temps are not normal for us northern campers. Thankfully the lake was refreshing.
Sure enjoying my perked coffee, it’s a definite different taste from regular old dripped coffee.
This pic is of yesterday’s sun setting. This was at 8:00 pm so as you see the sun still has some time before hitting the horizon. It was more vivid than the pic shows and at one time had some smoke rings around it making it look like the rings of Saturn. We had to haul the boat home yesterday and this was the trip back to camp.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
Monday...coffee good...full moon so a stroll around the yard with cup in hand. A comfortable cool breeze... probably won't be one today when sun is beating down but no tasks in line really so the old man dodges it today.
my skinner peep sight is still on schedule to arrive Wednesday. Simple happy is good. I will watch the mailbox for my prize. Coffee up, and sucess to all of you folks this week!

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
77 this morning with cloudy skies and light drizzle. That won't last long. We need a down pour.
Folgers and Famous Amos cookies.
Going to break records for days in the 90s this week. Yuk!
Well, we had the family reunion on Saturday and it was good.
My cousin and I smoked and roasted the best brisket I've ever done. In fact it's all gone. No leftovers.
Kurt and Cindy will leave for home this morning. They've been here 8 days now living in their Montana
fifth wheel, and its been fun. I will go out to the barn in a bit and help them to hook up. Next stop
will be Galena, Il. to visit the home of US Grant, then back to St. Louis.
On the down side I lost another cousin last week. He passed away from Covid19. He was in his 70s.

77° with 94% humidity. Headed toward 97°. I think it will break 100° for the first time today this year. Coffee but no breakfast as of yet. Thinking about what I'm going to cook.

Like Bob Seger sang “I woke last night to the sound of thunder”, hey we finally got some rain, hallelujah! Raining and it’s currently 68 with a high of 99. Everybody have a great day!

Back home in good ole’ Deer Park and woke up to 57 with a high of 95 coming. Pretty clear skies here unlike the smoke we had 60 miles north last week. Hot week ahead with triple digits by the weekend.
Yesterday was my uncle’s funeral and while it’s a sad occasion for a gathering it was nice to visit with a couple of cousins who live elsewhere. Today is mowing and putting stuff away from out trip.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
according to the weather radar we are in the middle of a strong thunderstorm with heavy rain .... looking out the window, the wind is spooky calm and not a drop of water has been seen .... it appears that once again Lake Poinsett has split the storm .... sadly, this area could really use the rain and right now it appears we've missed out on the best opportunity for the last couple of weeks .... breakfast has come and gone .... not much on tap for today

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
Here's a shot of my cousin Kurt and I this morning. All hooked up and ready to get on the road.
I'm the good looking one with the hat.
An old neighbor lady drove in and asked Kurt if they were from Montana. See, it says Montana on the
front of the fifth wheel............. Oh well.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
77, cloudy, windy. Going to be a scorcher today with highs in the 90s. Hotter tomorrow.
Folgers, cookies and a banana.
Got the new shop door opener working yesterday and today I will take the Journey to my
neighbors shop and get the leveling jack re installed. It was leaking fluid so I had it rebuilt.
The Winnebago Grand National Rally is going on this week, but with this heat we will stay home.
We've been there when it was this hot and it makes it no fun. Everyone just sits inside with the AC.

We have attended many times in past years and it was really good. In fact they say bring the
grandchildren and they will entertain them, and we did, and they did.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
81 this morning. It's going to be a hot day for sure. Didn't take the dogs out for their evening walk last night until dark and it was still hot. Cereal, coffee, and strawberries for breakfast.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
A pleasant 59 at get up time with a high of 95 on tap. It’s been pretty windy and on Sunday evening we had two fires breakout within 10 miles of home. Fortunately for us neither got out of control and both are in partial containment as of this morning.
Today is straighten out the basement day and later my wife has talked me into taking her into Spokane to do a bit of shopping for our grandkids who we will be visiting this weekend.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
2 more hot days on tap before out string of 90+ degree temps are supposed to (at least temporarily) come to an end .... currently 80 with a RealFeel of 92, don't recall seeing such a large gap .... they say it will get up to 97 later today with a RealFeel of 104 .... heavy thunderstorms are in the forecast, this area could really use some significant rain .... scrambled eggs with cheese and Vidalia onions washed down by Folgers kicked off this morning .... probably supply run on tab for this afternoon

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
Halleluiah, Halleluiah, Halleluiah, It's raining! Boy do we need it.
Haven't got the coffee yet, just enjoying the thunder.
Now I'll get the Folgers and cookies.
Work in the shop today as more T-Storms are predicted this afternoon.
Today is supposed to be the hottest day of the heat wave but maybe these storms will stop that.
