Rangereport may 29th and June 5th

Post by ruhler » Tue Jun 08, 2021 11:14 am

Went to the range last couple of weekends with excellent weather with my Henry AW 44mag and my 10.5" Ruger SBH and some reloads with homecast bullets. Since I had some issues with scoping my Henry the scope went out of adjustments before getting it zeroed. I went back to basic, back to buckhorn sights. Zeroed at 25meters

Bullet: Homecast 15bhn, 265gr NOE sized at .432 RNFP GC bullets loaded with Vithavouri N110,

This is a 7shot group at 25meters with the support of a ordinary caldwell bag

Tried the same ammo a 3shot group to see the pattern and it looks good, a bit high but the sights are set for 240grain bullets

This is from last weekend shot a 4shot group shooting from 50meters kneeling with support on foreend with the scope that was out of adjustments. That flyer was on me, its not Henrys fault :)

That's some fine shooting with the 44 mag. Been a long time since I shot a 44. I do miss it.

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

That load is a keeper. My experience with Vihtavouri powders is they produce very consistent results. I believe that shows in the groups you shot. Great job.
