Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
Dogs keep waking me up earlier per sunrise. Warm and muggy 74° and 80% chance for rain this afternoon. Rain is in the forecast all week with chances of flash flooding Wednesday. Having some steel cut oats, toast and coffee this morning.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
57 this morning on its way to 75 later today ... chance of passing showers this afternoon, no mention of any other precip for the rest of this week .... regular breakfast of local sausage, fried eggs and Folgers has come and gone .... watching "Background to Danger" filmed in 1943, staring George Raft and Brenda Marshall
Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
47 heading to 79, another beautiful day here in the inland Pacific Northwest. Tomorrow starts a big cool down with a high of only 58 predicted for Thursday. Also we “may” see some rain Thursday and Friday but I’ve heard that before.
Hope so as I need to mow some areas what are not watered and doing so today would be mowing in a cloud of dust just like Pig Pen from the old Charlie Brown Peanuts comics.
Today I’m finally back to splitting firewood, started a few weeks ago but got interrupted by other projects and a vacation.
As always the Folgers Black Silk is flowing freely and I feel my motor starting up.

Today: it’s sunny. It’s currently 54; the expected high is 79. We really could use some rain!

Light rain outside... perhaps some more later in day the weatherman predicts....just makes it greener. I been through droughts... and firmly say I prefer dealing with mud over dust.......coffee is good.... so day starting ok.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
its already 65 on its way to a high of 78 later today in central NC .... no more 40 degree night temps in sight .... no chance of rain .... basic breakfast of eggs, sausage and Folgers .... hauling trash first up this morning .... watching "Garden of Evil" good movie filmed in 1954 staring Gary Cooper, Richard Widmark and Susan Hayward
Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
52 heading to 60 with an overcast. 20+ degree drop from yesterday’s high. Cold front is here with very windy conditions and yesterday the pines were releasing pollen and at times it looked like a snow blizzard out there. Fortunately I’m not allergic so while it’s annoying and messy I don’t suffer too bad. Sure makes a mess of everything, had to shut up the house and shop even tho I was working outside.
Hoping to finish my wood splitting today, had to quit early yesterday as the lawn needed some attention too.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
64, light rain calm winds. Supposed to rain all day and tomorrow. We need it.
Orange juice, Folgers, cookies. (Chocolate Chip).
Probably work in the shop today. I finished the boat ramp yesterday and the boat is out of the water.
That's good or I'd have to hand bail it after the rain stops.
Carol wants to go to a place she likes for lunch that is a bit of a drive, but what the heck, it's raining anyway.
Can't do yard work.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
Got 4.5" of rain last night. Thunderstorms lasted pretty much all night long. Light rain still falling this morning with flash flood warnings continuing through early tomorrow morning. No flooding here at the moment. Had cereal and coffee for breakfast this morning.

^^^^^^
That’s an incredible amount of rain Jake. Tonight we’re supposed to get .1 inch and we’re doing the happy dance. Don’t want your level of rain (and flooding of course) but would like some of it.
We had a freeze warning overnight and folks were scrambling to cover newly planted plants. We planted some trees and some plants but the trees are hearty and the plants are next to the garage so we didn’t need to cover anything. I did unscrew the hoses from the house bibs. Woke up to 34 so no frost for us. Forgot I changed the HVAC to A/C so had to turn the heat on this morning.

Wow Jake! Are you in that flood plain around Houston? We have spent some Winters near Dickenson and have seen the flood damage there from previous storms. Got a cup of Boyers Aspen Gold brewed up and drinking that enjoying the sunshine here. Gonna go make some smoke today with the pistol and may take out the Marlin 60 to see where its shooting. I had left in in Washington but decided to bring it home this trip when the wife mention she really liked shooting it. 48 here right now headed to 75 today.
