My Dad was in WWII. He hated SOS. I had it when I was in the Army, I liked it. Different recipe maybe?

I've seen SOS made a lot of different ways. If it starts with cream and butter, then chipped beef of ground beef, it's probably
going to be good. If it's just milk and flour, Uh uh.

My father was on a PT boat in South Pacific in WWII, said it seemed all they had was SOS for weeks at a time but he would still make chip beef on toast for us kids. Friday’s it was made with tuna and peas.

I almost always keep some on hand. ( Stoufers ).
Have never seen any other brand. Anyone know of others. Not gonna make it myself.

Fish and chips from a little Japanese dive that is GOOD!! Lazy. After a year away, I'm back to racing my little cars tomorrow. Should be fun.

It's in the frozen food case. Sometimes it's kind hard to spot amongst all the other Stouffer items. Persist though, and you'll probably find it. In our store, ( Ingles ), it's usually up high.

Real quick and easy too!
Two slices of toast, about 3 to 4 scrambled eggs over the toast and then pour the creamed chipped beef over that.
Al you have to do is pierce the bag several times with a fork, lay it flat on a plate, and then Nuke it for 7 mins.
Comfort food to me!!

Gadzooks! I used to eat that when I was in the desert racing dirt bikes. Boil those bags in water, make some toast[usually someone had a camper] and off we'd go! Tasty stuff. May have to pick some more up. We had some, uhh, interesting grub in the racing days! Early to late 70's.

Dad was a WWII & Korean War vet. and he had a few comments about SOS.
I've had some that wasn't bad, then some I just turned my nose up at.

Same here. I'm going to try & find some of that Stoufers SOS, that Mark talked about and have a go at it. They usually have good stuff.
I got some in a can years ago, not all that great.

Costco Prime Rib-eye last night, couldn't finish it so dinner for tonight too. So much better than Choice but expensive, $45 for 2.

Had rib eye tonight smoke for about 45 minutes before it was cooked. It was great. SOS I can eat that and not mind it a bit. I can eat a Marie Callender's chicken pot pie. There you go Gruntster. Right up your alley some chicken pot pie. But that canned stew isnt for me.

No, the two local Jack in the Boxes are doing the Fish Sandwich promotion instead (which are good), I would have to drive quite aways to get the monsterburger. Not something I would normally get, I was just intrigued by the challenge of trying to finish one.

I love chicken or beef pot pies but with all the pie crust (which is the best part) they have an awful lot of carbs, especially the large size.

Unfortunately all my Doctors are telling me I need to lose quite a bit of weight so I guess I need to really get serious about sticking to my 1800 calories a day.

Roasted a couple of Cornish Game Hens on the pellet grill last night. Recipe said to roast at 375 for 50-60 minutes to 165* in the thigh. Left them on for 50 minutes but the thighs temp was 180+. Dark meat was great but the breast meat was just a little dry. However all in all it was very tasty especially the crispy skin which I basted with butter. Added a salad and called it dinner.
